• Presently manages Finance and Accounts of Damas’s Subsidiaries, JCE’s, JV’s & Associates in Qatar, Oman, Kuwait, Bahrain and Saudi regions. Had handled earlier, investments in Turkey, Libya, UK, USA and Duty free shops.
• Direct reporting to the Group CFO and regular interactions with directors and senior management.
• Day to day interactions with Overseas Country Heads and Regional Finance Managers which at times involves travelling.
• Prepare monthly financial reports in respect of assigned entities and locations, highlighting current month & year-to-date actual and variances from budgets with explanations.
• Participate proactively in preparation of Monthly, Half-yearly & Year end financials for management. Apply accounting principles, compile data, verify reconciliations and review books maintained at overseas locations.
• Preparation & Finalisation of Half-yearly and Annual financial statements for audit. Liaising with current auditors Deloitte & Touché and experiences of dealing in the past with EY, KPMG & PWC.
• Analyse financial data, documents including expense reports and information submitted by various regions to ensure authenticity.
• Perform periodic audit reviews of activities of each location, cost or profit centre assigned, submit independent report on findings with recommendations for improvements where necessary and implement.
• Prepare business plans, feasibility reports, stores rationalisation and implements business re-structuring plans set by management.
• Prepare annual budgets and estimates. Review and report deviations of budgets with actual.
• Prepares various daily & MIS reports as required by management including KPI’s.
• Computation of sales staff Incentive and performance linked profits schemes. Assist the regions sales heads in preparing sales targets.
• Keep abreast of statutory / tax regulations applicable to assigned companies’ and ensure error free compliance and protect companies’ interests. Active interaction with the tax auditors of regions during annual tax finalisations and tax assessments.
• Review existing procedures and practices to identify scope for improved controls. Review policies and procedures with all concerned staff, recommend changes for improvements, obtain acceptance and implement.
• Approval of LPOR’s towards regional expenses. Verify expenses and approves for payment. Verify and approves payroll and HR payments. Applies cost cutting measures wherever necessary.
• Verifying the stock levels with limits and approving their shipments to regions.
• Verify Stock schedule for conduct of Inventory check. Discusses the deviations with concerned and approves for staff deductions.
• Monitors the daily cash flow for funds transfer from overseas regions to Dubai HO. Liaising with banking department for all bank related matters.
• Prepares periodic reports on inventory and capex as required by insurance department. Examines insurance claim cases and follow-up with insurance department for recovery.
• Verification of overseas leasing renewals & approving on behalf of finance department.
• Submission of monthly sales information to landlords & liaising with auditors for yearly turnover audit.
• Staff performance appraisal and recommend for increments.
• Involved with the IPO team by submitting reports as requested by the due diligence team.
