Quality improvements:
- Led more than 50 key quality improvement initiatives, both vendor quality and in-house quality, resulting in reduction of defect rate by 50%.
- Improved Product and Process Quality to provide world-class Constructive Solutions to the customer by leveraging TBEM (Tata Business Excellence Model), TPM, and QMS.
Productivity Improvement - Achieved productivity improvement of 35% in Soil Compactor and 25% in Motor Grader models through continuous process improvements and elimination of different wastes.
TPM Circle Leader-Implemented TPM activities comprising 5S, visual factory, Kaizens, problem solving, efficiency mapping, , suggestion generation and multi-skill building.
Processes:
- Conceptualized, executed and finalized the assembly process for 4 different models.
- Created standard operating procedures (SOP) to achieve standardization of processes and aid easy workmen induction.
Project Team Leader for New Product Introduction- Transit Mixer:
- Selected to lead a 5 member cross functional team to initiate end to end manufacturing activity for the new product
- Visited Serviplan Plant in Spain to aid knowledge transfer of assembly processes to India with customization.
- Worked closely with multiple functions to crystallize CAPEX requirement, indigenization, design modification, process planning and manpower requirement to help commence production of the new model.
Trained end users on SAP R/3 (PP Module); led data correction activity in Bill of Material & Master Database.
Successfully implemented ISO 9001 standards and OHSAS 18001 in the Assembly shop.
Prepared manufacturing strategy for TATA Wheel Loader for new manufacturing facility, Kharagpur.
