As Captain Training (Aviation Operations) at Flag Officer Sea Training (FOST), conducted Operational Aviation Training/ Workup of Naval units/ squadrons after Audits and Training Need Analysis (TNA). Ascertained readiness of Naval Air Units and proficiency of crew in undertaking assigned tasks in areas of Maritime Air Operations. Conducted periodic audit of Aviation Facilities at various Naval Air Bases, units and onboard ship for their correctness and operations. Reviewed existing SOPs and proposed fresh ones for new systems.
FPO manages the project to develop Navy’s premier Aviation Operating Base and Aviation Facilities at Turbat (Balochistan). It included landscaping and construction of civil works like roads, water channels, electricity, furniture, tarmacs, taxiways, runway etc. I was also responsible for the safety/ security of all PN personnel including MES staff and over 500 contracted workforce omnipresent inside the Base, in the face of challenging security ambiance of Turbat/ Balochistan. Served with the Project for over 2 years. As President Siting Board Proceedings, timely planned all the civil works alongwith cost estimates. All the approved civil works were executed/ completed while ensuring quality through intrusive monitoring as specified in the construction contracts. On own Initiative, a tree plantation campaign in this arid zone lead to growth of over 2000 Conacorpus, Date, Cheeko and other plants using accumulated rain & drained waste-water. Accomplished the security of men & material despite fragile security situation all around.
HOM PN P-3 Mission supervises up-gradation/ modernization of Pakistan Navy's P3C aircraft at M/s Lockheed Martin facility in South Carolina and conducts training of Pakistani air/ ground crew on modernized systems in USA. Plan & apportions budgets for all activities of the Project/ Mission and monitors their timely and cost-efficient execution. I was nominated as HOM, after meeting stringent selection criteria for a yearlong appointment in USA to .manage project of strategic importance to Nation and the Navy. Ensured timely completion of depot maintenance, modification, embodiment, trials, acceptance and ferry to Pakistan. In parallel, coordinated logistics, supportability and training of Pakistani air/ maintenance crew with US/ Canadian/ European agencies.
DEW is a strategic position in the Navy who is responsible for ensuring operational output through continued maintenance of existing systems and to plan induction/ procurement of new EW Surveillance Systems. The Director also supervises induction, training, installation, acceptance, trial/ operations of EW systems, formulates new doctrines and reviews relevant SOPs. This position open to selective/ privileged officers generally after War Course & is regarded as a career milestone for further promotion. As DEW, completed all the assigned charter of duties efficiently and as a result was promoted to next rank on completion of this tenure.
As a CO, I was entrusted with the Safety, Security, Operations and Maintenance of national assets worth billions of rupees, trained human capital and gadgets/ publications containing highly classified information. Maintaining higher state of preparedness and optimum proficiency of air/ ground crew was also part of charter. It is a selective/ privileged appointment & a career milestone for naval aviators.
Appointed on the Faculty of PN War College as a Directing Staff; a selective and honored instructional appointment in military organizations world-wide. For 2 years, prepared officers (Major/ Lt Col & Equivalent) from PN, Sister Services and Friendly Navies for higher leadership positions by training them in Conventions of Service Writing, Research Methodology, Leadership & Management, Verbal/ Non-Verbal Communication Skills, Military/ Naval History, Logical Thinking (Appreciation/ Estimation), International Law, Administration/ Logistics, Military Strategy, Maritime/ Naval Strategy, International Law (Humanitarian Law& UN Convention on Law of the Sea) etc.

Qualified No. 40 Flight Safety Officers (FSO 40) Course for Aircraft Accident Investigation Course with Distinction and awarded Post Graduate Certification in Aviation Safety from Karachi University. I was also the First-ever TACCO of Naval Air Arm to undergo FSO Course. The subjects studied were Safety Programme Management, Aircraft Accident Investigation, Mathematics, Physics, Aerodynamics, Aviation Physiology, Aviation Psychology, Communication Skills and Aerodynamics.
Clinched First Position in B.Sc (Hons) in Naval Sciences and awarded Degree by Karachi University. Subjects studied/ qualified for this 3-years Degree Course were: Applied Sciences, Aviation, Communication, Computer Sciences, Control Engg, Divisional, Electrical Engg, Electronic Warfare & Electro Optics, Electronics, Engg Drawing, English, Fleet Board, Islamic Idealogy & History, Marine Engg, Mathematics, Metallurgy, NBCD, Naval Architecture, Naval Leadership, Naval Warfare & Operations, Nuclear Engg, Physics & Nuclear Engg, Propulsion Plant, Radio Engg, Seamanship & ROR, Submarine, Surface Weapons, Thermodynamics & Heat Transfer, Underwater Warfare, Weapons Engg & Systems.
