As head of Engineering & General Procurement section, I am leading a team of more than 10 individual with diversified skills and experience. We manage almost 30% of the total procurement of the hospital covering following areas mainly:
• Main campus and all 4 off campus units
• 300 phlebotomy centers and collection units spread across Pakistan
• Departmental policies and sectional standard operating procedures
Responsible for managing Indirect Procurement of hospital; mainly Maintenance, Construction & Utilities Projects, Printing & Publishing Material, Linen, Vehicles and Nutritional & Food Services department covering both Imports & Local orders. Also, managing the contract management section of the entire Indirect Procurement of the hospital.
Following were part of my daily activities
• Sourcing of items from local and foreign markets as per requirements
• Selection of vendors as per price, Incoterms, mode of shipment, and mode of payment over import orders
• Catering indirect technical procurement of main campus including utility expansion contracts of MEP & Civil
• Coordination between Vendor, Imports and Finance for the establishment of Letter of Credit
• Coordination between Vendor and Imports for the arrangement of shipping documents for the timely clearance of shipments
I was responsible for following activities:
• Complete Procure to Pay cycle for mechanical fabrication and projects procurement for more than 1000 MRO items and al the ongoing projects
• Categorized vendors as per their skills to improve delivery timeline and reduce open purchase orders
• Enhancement of approved vendor list by exploring potential suppliers from local market
• Designed and Implemented Vendor Performance Evaluation System for improved vendor selection at the time of ordering
As Development Engineer, following were part of responsibilities:
• Development of all the sheet metal parts of three models
• Supplier Evaluation and Selection based on Quality, Cost and Delivery (QCD) and 4M analysis
• Issuing Purchase Orders to arrange supply of motorcycle parts as per the production schedule received from Production Planning Department
• Development of Air Filter Assembly (Injection Molding), & Holder Handle (Die Casting) were assigned to me as special project
• Conducting Value Engineering / Value Addition activities to reduce cost of the parts
Following were part of my activities in Material Management Department:
• Preparation of Bill of Material of the 3 models of tractors
• Issuing blanket Purchase Orders with monthly delivery schedules for delivery of parts
• Localization of tractor parts mainly sheet metal parts
• Implementation of ERP system “CIS” as Power User for Material Management Division
