Managing the transactional P&L for GE in the West & South regions of Saudi for the field services, parts & repairs of GE, Alstom and ABB fleet of steam and gas turbines, generators & auxiliary systems.
Managing the production line for the Gas Turbine power nozzle repair operations in General Electric Manufacturing Technology Center.
Introducing Lean productivity projects to reduce the turbine outage cost.
-Collaboration with small machine fabrications global commodity team to drive the completion of 16 qualifications to save 372K$ on planned orders for 2013 that came from direct RFQs or e-Auction utilizing the local Sourcing expertise with the technical side and Design Engineers in the global network.
-Solving supplier payment issues to maintain supplier relationships
-Building & communicating complex RFQ packages & projects effectively to develop local suppliers for new products and services.
-Using LSS approach to qualifying 100% of the welders in the shop completing more than 100 welding tests.
-Average closing time for quality reports reduced from 64 dyas to 14 days
-Reducing the top 3 defects in coating (hardness and oxidation) and dimensions by 40%
-Developing a system for improvement of first pass yield.
For seven months I have done my co-op with GE. I completed projects to improve the inventory & payments process as well as organizing a first of a kind event to increase the awareness of sourcing procedures “Sourcing Day”. Besides supporting the team in daily operations, I worked on discount negotiations, strategic planning & employee training . I was recognized twice for “Best Improvement Project in MEA Q1 2011” & by the GM of Gas Repairs “One Team Award” for the team work.
