Duties and Responsibilities:
• Responsible for setting and executing procurement strategies for RM, PL, CAPEX and services. In conjunction with supporting internal business areas and projects, identify opportunities for cost reduction, develop and execute strategies to achieve them. This includes using continuous improvement methodology to implement sustainable processes and policies to support strategies and realize savings.
• Implement sourcing strategies to support objectives in commodities, providing the competitive advantage in the areas of services, supplies, and outsourcing plans.
• Control the spend towards maintaining efficient budgeted spend.
• Locate, analyze, and develop a consolidated supply base to meet current and future needs.
• Negotiate and manage contracts/agreements for commodities, equipment, and services.
• Maintains and promotes relationships with vendors and business community through creating and maintaining mutually beneficial long-term partnerships with vendors to foster feedback and continuous improvement. This includes driving continuous improvements with the vendors base.
• Develop cross-functional teams to understand companys needs and evaluate suppliers/vendors.
• Manage suppliers, cost, quality, and delivery performance. Understand, track, and forecast the key cost drivers and market factors for commodities and strive to maintain up-to-date knowledge of market trends, pricing, availability, and new technologies.
• Organize and issue required periodical status reports to management outlining performance vs. original projected schedules and objectives.
• Administrate, coordinate, and cooperatively work with other departments, and enhance the communications channels with them to solve all issues relevant to suppliers/vendors.
• Saving: Succeeded to record saving of 7% against budget.
• Sourcing: secured huge quantity of protein in very short time at very competitive price.
• Structure: Built new procurement team in UAE (Gulf Food Company)
