I worked as network administrator assistant. Network administrator responsibilities in Cristal are :
1. Designing networks.
2. Installing and supporting LANs and WANs .
3. Installing and maintaining network software and hardware.
4. Analyzing and isolating issues.
5. Identifying users needs.
6. Solving users problems
7. Determining network and system requirements.
8. Assigning routing protocols and configuring routing tables.
Some tasks that did at Cristal
Installing and terminating cat 5 cables
I followed TIA/BIA-568-B standard to terminate cat 5 cables.
Fixing users connection by pulling cat 5 cables
I received users complain that they cannot connect to the network and the Internet. I tested the cable of the user by Telemax TL-521 Cable tester the result was the not connected with all 8 line, in other word line 7 and 8 were not connected. Eventually, I pulled an other cable for the user from Patch Panel.
Installing Avya 9508 phone for users
After I got all users extension number, I pulled cables for Avaya phones, and then I built all cables with connectors RJ 45 and tested them, after that I configured the phones. Phones configurations very easy, it is just require user’s extension number and password.
Installing Ploycom 7000 phone
I configured many now Ploycom 7000 phone, I faced problem which are wrong server configurations, but eventually I fixed the problem.
Fixing Internet slow
We received many complaints from users about Internet slow. we measured the internet speed in the cable that coming from Internet service providing company which is STC, we found:
leased line 17 Mbps
wireless line 0 Mbps
We disconnected wireless line; We called Internet service providing company STC and told them about the problem, after tow day they solve the problem.
Configuring Routers and switches .
I have configured Cisco routers and swatches.
I worked for three months as computer technician at Right IT - Yanbu, Saudi Arabia. (My responsibilities were: Installing OS and programs, repairing desktop and laptop (changing motherboard, hard disk, CPU, RAM, power supply, capacitor, battery, LCD), and assembling desktop). In three months I assembled and repaired around 900 PCs.
My responsibilities were:
1. Installing the operating systems and programs.
2. Repairing of computers and laptops.
3. Determining all users need.
4. Solving users problems.
5. Tracking and solving users connections problems.
6. Terminating and testing cat 5 cables.
7. Pulling cat 5 cables.
I am one of best student in every school where I studied. excellent knowledge and experience in computer softwares and hardwares; and I have good knowledge and experience in networking field. I can learn fast; Beside that My English language is very good. Not only that but also I proved that I can do well in workplace when I assembled and repaired around 900 PCs in just three months in Right IT Computer Center. I think all these points make me to enter to workplace strongly.
