In Cobham’s pursuit to develop advanced satellite communication solutions to be installed on major commercial aircraft manufacturers, I play a key role in shaping the regulatory environment that the product is certified in, also supporting in-house design and development teams to ensure that system meets the required safety and security standards.
Responsibilities:
• Cultivating and enabling a team of 4 engineers who have interface with design teams (SW, HW, System, MOPS and qualification disciplines), operations and marketing departments. Operating on 5 different projects in parallel.
• Directing the on-going Design Organization Approval program.
• Planning multidisciplinary certification activities and resources allocations, obtaining the final product approval respecting master schedule plan, cost estimating and developing the budget.
• Driving development, implementation and maintenance of efficient and lean processes, including process maps, procedures, processes and various registers and logs in order to meet legislative/regulatory requirements, the needs of customers, the business and its stakeholders.
• Consolidating and controlling schedule baseline, identifying project risks and planning for appreciate responses.
• Monitoring progress and reporting it to project sponsor and program manager.
Main Achievements:
• Enabled the approval of the developed equipment through active management of compliance demonstration activities to industry safety and security standards.
• Built a lesson-learned culture in the management change control board
• Devised a configuration management system to control item identification, change, review through project life cycle.
• Promoted Cobham ongoing working culture transformation to become an aero-class organization, piloting "Quick30" presentations that introduce aerospace industry to maritime veterans. Following, employee engagement has exponentially raised.
Delivered certification documentations supporting approval of (major/minor) modifications and repairs to large aeroplane, i.e. antenna installation, camera installation, VIP cabin completion and other minor changes to certificate type.
Responsibilities:
• Planned, oversaw, assessed, documented, and reported compliance with certification regulations
• Monitored and identified changes to key regulations and standards affecting site compliance (communicating and leading implementation of changes)
• Defined and coordinated certification program through consolidating of inputs coming from GDC teams
• Moderated discussion with aviation authorities
• Prepared bids in a timely manner through formulation of solutions to detailed customer requirements and generating ideas for bids
• Raising quotations for various contract sizes, tasks breakdown
Main Achievements:
• Consolidated future updates to company procedures and processes following the introduction of new EASA regulations (Operational Suitability Data)
Directed validation exercise of major post-Type Certificate (TC) changes on Airbus aircraft with various foreign National Aviation Authorities (NAA) in collaboration with European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA). Acted as the sole Airbus’ focal point with Transport Canada Civil Aviation (TCCA).
Responsibilities:
• Worked closely with FAA and TCCA delegates to determine airworthiness approaches and coordinating airworthiness schedules
• Managed dialogue between Certification Managers, Design Certification Specialists, Chief Airworthiness Engineers and the approving aviation authority to examine certification submissions
• Created organized, clear presentations of complex technical modifications across ATA chapters, e.g. “Operations on Narrow Runways”, “Steep Approach” and “Extended service goal”
• Supported Air Canada during the definition phase of new aircraft configuration prior to its delivery and boosting the transfer of second-hand aircraft
Main Achievements:
• Established internal Airbus guidelines for implementation of Canada-EU TIP for Post TCCA Type Certification activities on Airbus aircraft.
• Enable the TCCA validation of a large backlog of Airbus A320 modifications after mediating long-term discussion.
• Supported current marketing campaign that requires detailed study of Airbus products’ performance.
• Made arguments to support Airbus aircraft and to undermine the purchase of a competitor.
• Analyzed diverse aircraft performance indicators and charts in light of EU-OPS & FAR 135.
• Updated and followed up on the database concerning Airbus key performance figures and benchmarked against competitors.
-Organized the process of renewal of pilots and stewards certification
Have an excellent grasp of aeronautical techniques and study of the aircraft operations, aircraft performance optimization, flight management systems, air transport law, airline costs and financial management, maintenance management and engineering, air traffic control and management, airline economics and strategy, airlines fleet planning, operational research and airport operation management.
