Responsible for all aspects of the companies operational requirements with in the national arena and further afield with potential business opportunities that could be supported either locally or with in the large world wide foot print of the company.
Responsible for all aspects of QHSE with clear reporting responsibilities up to the General Manager.
Management of all areas of business development, tendering and wider commercial activities. Day to day overview management of all active projects and contracts, all survey activities on-shore within the State of Qatar.
Providing project management for offshore survey positioning projects to the oil and gas industry. Engaging with the client directly as a SPOC for the development and implementation of the client's projects.
Ensuring that all requirements are met and maintained to the highest standards by controlling the following key project areas:
• Personnel and Equipment Resources,
• Health and Safety Standards, Risk Assessments and Procedures,
• Financial Management,
• Standards of Services Delivered,
• Project Implementation Schedule,
• Delivery of the Clients Scope,
• Close out of all project deliverables and requirements.
In summary providing a full cradle to grave project management service to ensure that the client achieve their planned goals and objectives.

Accountable for all aspects of QHSE and the P&L accounts of the company with clear reporting responsibilities up to the regional management.
Management of all areas of business development, tendering and wider commercial activities. Day to day overview management of all active projects and contracts, all survey activities, On-shore and Near Shore in the Sultanate of Oman.
Responsible and accountable for the following key sectors of the business structure: Personnel Management; Technical Management; Tender and Commercial Management; Project and Contract Management; HSE and QA/QC Management; Client relations.
Responsible for all areas of the construction of fuel installations and supporting infrastructure to support NATO forces in all areas of Afghanistan. Areas of expertise's covered the following but not limited to:
• Co-ordinated all site activities from pre-contract interviews to final delivery
• Liaised directly with other Project Managers to maintain the programme of works
• Provided on site expert technical guidance and support to project teams
• Monitored levels of raw materials and purchased additional requirements
• Monitored project progress and performance to ensure compliance to targets
• Delivered projects within stringent timescale, quality and budget requirements
• Set up a snag list and completed inspections to ensure defects were rectified
• Identified lessons learned from each project & recommended future best practice
• Managed all 3rd party contractors in relation to contract payment and renewal
• Discussed areas for concern with the subcontractor & reported back to the client
• Ensured delivery of customer requirements, agreeing financial & resource aspects
• Delivered contract performance parameters and processed changes or additions
• Qualified requests for proposals and evaluated resources required
• Managed Invitation to Tender processes and assessed suppliers and contractors
• Used a scoring system to assess suppliers based on workmanship, delivery & cost
• Set up a template for tenders within the framework of costs and timetables
• Negotiated Terms & Conditions, prices, delivery schedules & penalty clauses
• Conducted inspections of completed works as per drawings and specifications
• Resolved contractual disputes in line with Arbitrational system

Management of projects that directly supported the rebuilding of local infrastructure using Afghani contractors and labour. Developing USAID and CIDA requirements and creating viable projects that achieved the clients instructions. Once suitable project were approved, I then took the project through the complete life of the project covering design, tendering, award, monitoring, financial analysis and control, milestone payments and monitoring, resource control and approval, acceptance, snagging, handover to the end users and final close out of the projects.
Working in direct support of the British Military and NATO allies on construction projects by providing specialist survey services to the Design and Management Team. Providing survey inputs at the concept, design, tender, implementation, monitoring and close out phases of numerous projects, whilst ensuring that all the clients requirements were met.
Responsible for the establishment of a local content capacity building process to train Afghanis to operate as qualified surveyors to the same standards as expected by international companies and the requirements if USAID. Monitoring the work of UNOPS subcontractors to ensure that they operated to the required industry standards, meet and maintain health and safety standards and deliver projects to the Stakeholders requirements.
Responsible for the project management of road and infrastructure projects in remote and hazardous parts of Afghanistan. The role involved liaising with USAID representatives and other Project Managers, providing on site expert technical guidance, monitoring resource requirements, monitoring progress and performance to ensure that the project was delivered on time, to budget and to the required standard.
As Chief Surveyor I had to ensure that all survey requirements and standard were maintained and that all work was done with the correct resources, to the require health and safety standards and in accordance with the clients requirements.
Working as an Engineering Surveyor and Soldier in remote and difficult locations around the world. Working in general infrastructure, new build, civil, road and full installation projects in support of the military and civilian communities. During all projects a high level of attention was paid to Health and Safety, welfare, administrational controls, logistical support and resource management.
