Crossrail Project - C610 Systemwide Main Works (Alstom TSO Costain JV)
Responsibilities:
* Provide technical support to Floating Track Slab (FTS) construction team, procurement team and site engineers,
provide and advised on resolutions to technical problems and coordinating application of solutions.
* Review and approve subcontractors and suppliers risk assessments, method statements and Inspection and Test
Plans (ITP's)
* Ensure quality of track construction meets Crossrail's design, requirements, specifications and EN standards.
* Raise and deal with requests for information and liaise with Crossrail/Designer on the site installation issues.
* Responsible for producing and maintaining method statements, risk assessments, ITP's, Material Compliance
Records and Technical Specifications and review of technical data to maintain accuracy of documents.
* Perform site inspections and coordinate requirements with contractors and suppliers.
* Order specialised materials and components, organised and participated in components testing and coordinated
installation of all permanent components and in charge of earth and bonding installation and testing.
* Supervise other engineers and technicians.
* Managed reinforced heavy weight concrete operations.
* Authorised sub-contractors on delivery of specialised work.
* Reviewed and assisted in performing technical bid analysis.
* Managed a site team of 35 operatives during the construction of 100 metre demonstration floating track slab.
* Daily briefings and tool box talks to ensure workers comply with health and safety procedures and use
equipment, clothing and devices safely.
* Produced daily site progress reports and labour allocation reports.
* Assisted in designing and constructing different types of floating track slab (FTS) in the UK.
Negotiate with local and overseas suppliers on costs and services level and agreement for supply and
coordinated the resolution of performance problem with regards to delivery, quality and cost.
* Control and audited stock levels and monitor results to ensure materials availability for project completion.
* Visited the sites to understand what materials, equipment or plant needed to complete the project.
* Manage and organised delivery and collection of specialised materials and equipment.
* Liaise with procurement design and construction teams to ensure multi-disciplined resources are managed within
the supply engagement cycle.
* Report to Track Project Manager and Engineering Manager on weekly basis.
Reported to Track Project Manager and Construction Manager of progress and delays on weekly basis,
monitored weekly track construction performance and reviewed it with Track Project Manager.
* Developed detailed plan of resources, methodology of work and sequence of works.
* Produced 6 week rolling program, weekly plans vs. actual reporting and monthly reports to the client.
* Participated in weekly interface meetings and reviewed program in view of changes to JV programme and
minimised delays where possible.
* Liaised with design team on design issues and worked closely with quality assurance to ensure compliance.
* Produced method statements and risk assessments and insure all changes are briefed out to engineers.
* Maintained compliance with the safety-assurance plan so that work is accomplished in an environmentally sound
manner using safe work practices and ensured work is performed per plans and specifications.
* Organised and manage specific site works.
* Anticipated and resolve problems encountered in the field to eliminate costly rework or retesting.
* Obtained and developed project documentation, data and hand-over to JV partners in accordance with agreed
procedures and the appropriate standards.
* Assisted QS and commercial team in preparing construction delay claims and payment applications.
* Was one of the key members of management team for a project worth £650M
Worked with team of joiners on window installation, shopfitting, fit out and refurbishment.
* Used power tools to undertake large concrete and steel cutting and removal.
* Worked in confined spaces and worked at height and operated mast climbers on high rise buildings.
* Checked and recorded materials delivery, materials quality and insured materials stored safely and correctly.
* Maintained clean site environment and insured waste is properly recycled in accordance with SWMP.
Managed everyday site activities and recommended changes as required.
* Managed plant and materials, costs and usage forecasting.
* Monitored scheduled and unscheduled work on site and maintained records.
