Led the company in the creation of a tax department, created the company handbooks on taxation, and created various board-level reports.
I work Assisting the two operational directors with all aspects of client work, from CRM to technical tasks. Additionally I act as the firm's sole marketing and sales executive, including being the copywriter for the firm's marketing efforts, providing a weekly newsletter, a bi-monthly direct mailing, and updating the firms social media feeds, having added new media to the portfolio since joining the firm.
In a management capacity I have updated company practices to ensure administration and client filing processes were brought up to date and implemented correctly;
I am the firm's in house technical expert in a number of areas.
Key Achievements
Grown the network of its contacts by 40%.
Now chair of the company's weekly internal technical and marketing meeting, providing updates on recent case law decisions and helping steer the direction that marketing will take.

• Arranged meetings for the local management team in order to market our service via warm leads and cold calls.
Key Achievements
Whilst in post I arranged a number of marketing meetings with local businesses, usually FTSE Top250, for our VAT Director and Senior Manager to attend, helping increase the firm's client base in the local area. I also arranged a number of meetings with NHS Trusts to provide our local specialism in public sector advice to the national market, helping with the tender documentation as well as the initial meetings. Wrote a number of technical updates for clients, with follow up courses offered, delivered externally.
• Worked closely with the firm's VAT Director providing client advice to a geographic area covering from Yorkshire to South West Scotland;
• Provided the administration for the whole VAT department within the firm;
• Led on a number of client accounts, handling their affairs personally.
• Provided external training courses to clients, and internal technical updates.
Key Achievements
Whilst at Armstrong Watson I developed a particular specialism in 'Kingscrest' claims, handling over 75 claims and securing in excess of £2.5m in refunds for clients, with another £750k agreed but not completed at the time I left the company. I also updated the operating practices of the department to ensure the firm was operating efficiently.
