In the role of Cluster Manager I oversee the management of six kindergartens for EPG (English Playgroup) In this role I travel to the various branches observing all staff from housekeeping up to the branch manager. I monitor the conduct of teachers and other staff to make sure class management is being handled properly as well as curriculum being delivered appropriately. I meet with parents when the need arises to help with concepts like lack of child progression academically, behaviour and or in the event that the child exhibits a need for special needs instruction which we are not able to provide in our schools. Our company has an international staff so I also provide guidance and support to those who aren't familiar with the culture of Kuwait. I work in a team of four Cluster Managers each with her own section of schools, we meet regularly and work on the curriculum together to make sure it is properly structured to yield results and we often brainstorm ways to help our schools be more productive. We also deliver workshops and support the induction process of new staff as well as support of returning staff. Part of our responsibility is also to make sure company policy and rules are followed and appropriate disciplinary action is taken when they are not followed. I personally enjoy the aspect of my work that allows me to connect with people as I feel ''connecting'' with others is one of my greatest assets.
I held a KG2 homeroom English class as well as being the level coordinator. I was responsible for deciding all work to be done in the KG2 classes for the following week, all worksheets, books that follow and progress the curriculum according to the academic calendar. I also developed and managed the after school program for all levels. The after school program curriculum was developed to be in line with the regular weekly curriculum and theme being followed in the homeroom classes.
Reborn Academy is a Kuwaiti company with a branch in Qatar. I have been the principal at the Qatar branch since it opened in 2013. I will be returning to Kuwait in June 2015 permanently as my family is in Kuwait and I prefer to live and work there. I am an American with Kuwaiti nationality.
My job here is to provide a safe environment for the children and staff. I must keep the school in compliance with local ministry of education laws and guidlines. I am responsible for the coordinating of the curriculum as well and meeting with parents for admission of thier child as well as any issues either party may have in regard to the childs education. I schedule the teaching staff and make sure they are delivering the curriculum properly and provide on going training for them as well.
