In charge of logistics operations for Syria. Volume of work for 2013: about 600, 000 MT food commodities received, stored, packed and subsequently dispatched as per programme activities. Managing a workforce of about 90 staff, logistics, storekeepers, tally clerks, billing and commodity accounting assistants.

August - October 2006 (closure of operations), Logistics Officer (Consultant), United Nations World Food Programme, Beirut, Lebanon. In charge of building and running the warehouse services for storage and distribution of humanitarian aid on the framework of Logistics Cluster managed by the World Food Programme on behalf of the United Nations, for helping war-affected Lebanese displaced people. Establishing and maintaining relations with UN Agencies and international NGO’s for the receipt and distribution of food and non-food items. Organizing the departure of convoys and their record-keeping.

April 1999 to February 2006 (closure of country office), United Nations World Food Programme - Albania Country Office - Logistics Assistant (from October 2001 acting Head of Logistics). Dealing with shipping and port operations and vessels/trucks’ customs clearance and discharge, preparation and participation in LTC meetings, invoice processing and monitoring the waybills submitted by the contractors and cross-checking them with the W/H manager. Preparation of RfQ’s for shortlisted contractors. LTSH/ITSH preparation and follow-up. Maintaining relations/negotiations of WFP Durres with the counterparts for logistics issues. EDP visits. COMPAS data insertion and reporting/replication activities. Apart of those main duties, engaged also with the admin/finance post for 8 months and have been involved in warehousing activities and physical inventories for short periods.

Also, during this period:

October - December 2005, Logistics Officer, WFP Liwonde, Malawi, in response to famine emergency. In charge of warehouse and distribution activities for a monthly output of 9-10, 000 MT. Participation and decision-making for a range of logistics issues during the operation.
April - June 2005, Logistics Officer, WFP Ampara, Sri Lanka, in response to tsunami emergency. In charge of warehouse and distribution activities for a monthly output of 2, 500 MT. Participation and decision-making for a range of logistics issues during the operation.
August-September 2003, member of Iraq Shipping Group, Rome. Follow-up of the discharge of chartered vessels in various ports of the region. Preparation of Sailing Advice and various other shipping documents as required.
May-July 2003 Logistics Consultant in Bandar Imam Khomeini, Iran. In charge of port operations and logistics services in framework of Iraq crisis. Attending and reporting for daily discharge of the vessels in port, coordinating the overland transport by trucks to various locations in Iraq. Head of sub-office and eventually completing its closure after the cease of operations.
