QA / QC INSPECTION ENGINEER -WELDING & PIPING

* Study and scrutinizing P & ID's and Isometric drawings of Piping's.
* Involved in the Test package preparation activities as per various Systems and its
Subsystems.
* Inspection of incoming piping materials, piping components and pipe fittings based on
Material Traceability Record (MTR)
* Verification of Mill Test Certificates (MTC) of all piping elements with reference to Code
requirements as well as Company Standards and Specifications.
* Preparation of weld map at all Isometrics piping drawings.
* Selection of Existing approved PQR and preparation of WPS as per code requirements as well as company procedure and specification.
* Witnessing of new PQR and preparation of WPS as per Code requirements as well as
Company Standards and Specifications.
* Conducting and Witnessing of WQT, preparation and review of WQTR and hence
qualifying the welders as per company standards and specifications.
* Preparation and review of the Quality Control Procedure (QCP), Inspection Test Plan (ITP) as per
Code requirements as well as Company Standards and Specifications.
* Inspection of each activity, Controlling the quality of products and maintaining records as per
Approved Quality Control Procedure (QCP), Inspection Test Plan (ITP) and Site Quality Plan.
* Review/ maintain Calibration records of Inspection / Test Equipments.
* Monitor and control Welding Consumables (Welding Consumables Management)
* Inspection of Base metal and joint preparation (Fit-up) process before welding of piping
components.
* In process inspection of welding / fabrication process.
* Measuring and Analyzing the values of Welding parameters (e.g.:- Welding Current,
Voltage, Travel speed, Preheat & Inter-pass temperature Etc) as per Approved WPS.
* Visual inspection of finished Welds after Welding & Prepare material/weld traceability,
inspection reports and control of documents for regular inspection activities.
* Carrying out Positive Material Identification (PMI) test on raw materials for Alloy materials,
Higher alloy material like SS and also for the filler materials and consumables used for welding process.
* Involved in the internal line inspection activities such as giving punch lists individually as well as with Client.
* Coordinate with all Supervisors / Foreman for clearing all 'A' punch items before Hydro
testing.
* Making As-built drawings for piping lines as per site conditions.
* Responsible for witnessing and getting NDT clearance of weld joints (Offering of suitable
NDT Method (es) according to line class (material, service etc) and approved company
NDT Procedure)
* Review of Test Package with all relevant documents such as Weld summary, NDT Reports,
Teat Reports etc prior to A punch clearance and Pressure Testing.
* If repair found in NDE interpretation, co-ordinate with Construction team to repair weld
joints as per Approved Weld Repair Procedure.

* Conducting and witnessing of Pressure tests (Hydrostatic and Pneumatic Tests)
* Coordinate with 'B' punch Team for clearing all B punch items such as incomplete welding of supports and other hot work process other than Welding on Piping and Piping components.

blowing.
* Inspection of Reinstatement activities such as Gasket installation, Bolt Torqing, Flange
alignment, Seal welding of vents and Drain caps etc.
* Preparation of all documents related to reinstatement such as reinstatement checklist, Gasket
installation verification, Bolt Torqing reports etc.
* Responsible for making arrangements for rotary equipment alignments as per P&ID
* Co-ordinate with Authorized Inspector from PMT and Contractor / Clients for job clearance.
