• Assist the safety manager in carrying out his duties and the over-all management of the safety department.
• Develop and implement the programs and initiatives of the Company Health and Safety Plan.
• Audit Health and Safety Programs based on International Safety Rating System.
• Evaluate and assess safety risks, potential hazards that can cause damage to people, equipment, materials and environment
• Prepare a work schedule on a 3-shifts (24 hour basis) rotation for all safety officers to ensure all work activities are monitored on a 24-hour basis.
• Assist all departments for the implementation of safety management plan and standard operating procedures (SOP).
• Undertake special evaluation of hazardous working places as the need arises and recommends immediate corrective and preventive actions.
• Assist operation groups in the formulation of standard operating procedures (SOP) arising from the Job/Task Analysis.
• Monitor the strict compliance of incident/accident reports to be submitted within 24 hours from the time of incident to safety department.
• Coordinate with the Mines and Geosciences Bureau (MGB) for all matters related to safety.
• Automatically assume the duty as Emergency Response Team (ERT) Coordinator that shall be responsible for the formulation of, training, and screening of ERT members.
• Performs related duties which may be assigned by the Safety Manager or as the need arises.
• Conducts shift routine inspection in areas of assignment both surface and underground.
• Monitors the full implementation of Company’s Safety Rules and Regulations and ensures compliance of Safety & Health Programs
• Closely coordinates with departments for in the implementation and monitoring of safety programs, procedures and standards.
• Promotes safety awareness thru facilitation of safety meetings, posting of safety posters/signage, updating of departmental safety performance and safety statistics.
• Plans and conducts program inspection, area safety audit, sanitary inspections and other related inspections/audit.
• Conducts safety investigation, safety orientation and/or re-orientation.
• Prepare reports that include shift safety accomplishments, safety inspections, safety violations, monthly audit, incident/accident investigations and other Safety related work that includes damages of property.
