Key Treasury Accountabilities:
- Managed a team of 2 Treasury & Investment Analysts & 3 Accountants.
- In charge of managing all activities related to the Cash Flow Management and overseeing the execution of every day financial decisions.
- Generate highly accurate cash reports, oversee all the cash transactions of the organisation and ensure sufficient liquidity to avoid shortage of cash as well as determine exactly how much cash is available and required for long-term and short-term use.
- Assist the different organisation’s entities to raise long and short term loans as well as working capital facilities.
- Examine financial decisions already made and to be made of the organisation thereby recommending the best approach that is possible.
- Perform comprehensive risk analysis and develop mitigation plans to counter the risks.
- Develop comprehensive financial models after conducting appropriate research and present it to the Upper Management to assist them in making better financial decisions.
- Develop, maintain and lead relationships with Banks (international and local) as well as oversee all the documentation relating to the Banks like Corporate Guarantees, Facility Letters, Bank Mandates, Subordination Forms, Authority Matrix and FATCA Forms.
- Responsible for opening and closing Bank Accounts and ensuring appropriate balance is maintained in all corporate Bank Accounts.
- Develop innovative and effective ways to reduce debt draw downs and prepare an Annual Debt Plan.
- Maintain a beneficial relationship with all the corporate insurance brokers thereby ensuring that the organisation has the right kind and right amount of insurance.
Key Investment Accountabilities:
- Effectively manage a diverse investment portfolio of listed and private equities, funds & debt securities, etc.
- Research and identify highly profitable investment opportunities with a high ROI and minimum cost.
- Evaluate and approve relevant financial statements and thereby submit the approved financial statement of various investment entities in the organisation’s consolidation software SAP BPC.
- Evaluate monthly investment performance reports and ensure that all systems and reports are in compliance to the accepted investment practices.
- Conduct a variance analysis against actual and forecasts and report the variances to the upper management.
- Develop reports by employing the Bloomberg Platform including Portfolio Status Reports, Peer Review Reports, Market Beta Reports, etc.
- Responsible for developing a comprehensive investment budget and forecast using accurate market research.
- Maintain and develop key partnerships with local and international managers of alternative investment products.

External Audit:

Accountable for audits assigned, including planning and control of audit.

Design, plan and perform the necessary audit procedures of both standalone and consolidated financial statements to attain a reasonable assurance about the fairness of the financial statements in compliance with the International Financial Reporting Standards.

Supervise, direct and technically develop the staff by providing technical support to the team members.

Review work prepared, ensuring quality in compliance with professional standards/requirements.

Monitor budget and understand commercial aspects involved such as billings and collections.

Tailor the audit programme to suit client business environment and risk.

Establish and maintain positive relationship with the client, through implementation of the approved plan(s).

Draft standalone and consolidated financial statements in accordance with (IFRS) and Auditing Standards and directly reporting to the managers, principals and partners in charge.

Resolution of accounting/technical issues raised by clients.

Train, supervise and coach staff assigned and contribute to non-client work.

Manage client relationships and identify opportunities.

Actively involved in the development of work products, ensure timely delivery and Quality of work provided to the engagement client.

Participate in several Annual General Assembly Meetings.

Research and provide technical advice and guidance to clients, recommending accounting treatment and disclosure for financial statements specifically related but not exclusive to the following areas:
o IAS 18: Revenue
o IAS 28: Investments in Associates and Joint Ventures
o IAS 36: Impairment of Assets
o IAS 40: Investment Property
o IFRS 3: Business Combinations
o IFRS 5: Non-current Assets Held for Sale and Discontinued Operations
o IFRS 9: Financial Instruments
o IFRS 10: Consolidated Financial Statements
o IFRS 13: Fair Value Measurement

Keep up-to-date with any changes or planned changes to accounting standards.

Compliance and risk assessment responsibilities:

Identify compliance risks and review control policies and processes in order to ensure regulatory compliance across Bank departments.

Make sure that system and Anti Money Laundering (AML) processes meet the requirements of regulatory.

Design and implement the test of Bank’s compliance with the Central Bank’s regulations and circulars (e.g. Circular No. 28/2010 - Regulation for Classification of Loans and their Provisions/ Circular No. 32/2013 - Monitoring of Large Exposure Limits).

Ensure the Banks’ compliance with the Central Bank of U.A.E. rules regarding the preparation of the Banking Return Forms (BRFs).

Review and validate the Banks’ Financial Reporting in XBRL (eXtensible Business Reporting Language) required by the Securities & Commission Authority in the U.A.E.

Design and implement the test of DIFC Bank’s compliance with the DFSA (Dubai Financial Services Authority) rules and regulations (The DFSA Rulebooks - Conduct of Business Module (COB) and Prudential - Investment, Insurance Intermediation and Banking Module (PIB)).

Due Diligence & special assignments:

Leading a team of eight employees to perform the Agreed-upon procedures of the Initial Public Offering of Dubai Parks and Resorts in accordance with the International Standard on Related Services (ISRS 4400) in which we carried out the specified procedures designed by an entity where we provided specialized financial reporting in a variety of situations where the company desires independently verified and reported information, such as inspection of documents or transactions for specific characteristics.
