E. DETAILS OF WORK EXPERIENCE
1. Capital Management House (CMH)

Capital Management House (now Ibdar Bank following merger of three financial institutions in 2012) is an Islamic investment bank providing products and services involving Islamic structured finance, corporate finance and investment advisory, asset management, private equity, mergers and acquisitions. CMH was also into real estate investments. My experience as a Director of CMH's Investment Department and Head of Real Estate include the following:
* Participated in CMH's 2008 capital raising and rights issue.
* Worked on the upgrade of CMH's license from the Bahrain Monetary Agency (BMA) from an investment company to an investment bank.
* Participaated in creating a consortium that invested in one of Bahrain's largest infrastructure projects, the Al Dur power and water project.
* Worked on projects involving affordable housing in Bahrain and India as well as commercial/office/residential/tourism developments in Bahrain and Saudi Arabia.
* Helped develop the bank's credit and investment manual as well as preparation of its business plan on annual basis.
* Management and oversight of the investment process; due diligence work; investment structuring; screening of investment proposals; and preparation of private placement memoranda and feasibility studies.


2. Gulf Finance House (GFH)

Gulf Finance House is an Islamic investment bank based in Bahrain engaged in direct investments & private equity, real estate investments & infrastructure development, liquidity & fund management, as well as consultancy & advisory services. My experience in GFH include the following:
* Participated in various capacities in direct and private equity investments in varied sectors across the Gulf region such as firms engaged in banking & finance, manufacturing and services as well as real estate funds and infrastructure development projects of GFH.
* Participation involved either due diligence work, structuring, investment analysis and research in relation to the screening of investment proposals, and preparation of feasibility studies. Participated in the preparation of the private placement memoranda for no less than a dozen investments launched by GFH.
* Developed financial models for several of the bank's investments, which include financial institutions, real estate developments and an industrial concern.
* Prepared or supervised the preparation of business plans of acquired / investee companies, investment reports, competitive analysis reports and a newsletter.


3. Mashreq Bank

Mashreqbank is one of the largest privately owned commercial banks in the United Arab Emirates. As a Credit Officer at the Bank's International Banking Group, I handled credit oversight functions of the Bank's overseas branches primarily Sri Lanka, Kenya, and Sudan. Tasks included the following:
* Review / screening of credit proposals originating from the bank's overseas branches for approval of the appropriate authority. In line with this function, I have the authority to approve proposals up to the equivalent of BD 150M.
* Monitoring of loan portfolio and branches' performance against set targets.
* Provide guidance to the branch with regard to credit issues.
* Review of account risk ratings to determine branch portfolio quality.
* On-site credit audit to review credit management processes at the branch, and ensuring branches' adherence to credit policies and procedures.


4. Bank of Bahrain and Kuwait

The Bank of Bahrain & Kuwait is one of the largest commercial banks in Bahrain. As a Relationship Manager at the Bank's Corporate Banking Department, I handled both credit and marketing functions, which include the following:
* Management of assigned portfolio, either performing or non-performing corporate / commercial relationships.
* Origination of accounts and marketing of the Bank's products / services.
* Preparation and/or review of credit proposals for the approval of the appropriate authority. Work include analysis of clients'financial statements, preparation of financial projections in case of term credits, industry assessments, etc. To facilitate the credit process, I had the authority to approve credits up to BD 150M.
* Provide guidance to marketing staff with respect to credit matters.
* On-the-job coaching/training of junior marketing/credit officers of the bank.
* Documentation of facilities. Preparation and/or review of facility agreements.


5. Al Bank Al Saudi Al Fransi

This bank is the Saudi Arabian affiliate of Banque Indo-Suez, an internationally known French bank. As Credit Officer of the Bank's Buraidah Branch, duties involved credit work and operations functions as well. These were as follows:
* Preparation of credit evaluation reports for Head Office approval. Documentation of facilities.
* Administration and control of facility and security documents.
* Monitoring of credit portfolio and follow up of non-performing accounts.
* Coordinating with Head Office as regards the Branch's L/C, Bills, and guarantee operations.


6. Private Development Corporation of the Philippines

PDCP bank (now part of the Banco de Oro banking group in the Philippines) was a development bank owned by leading industrialists in the country as well as international financial institutions like Chase Manhattan Bank and Bank of America. The bank served as a conduit of the World Bank (IBRD) and the Asian Development Bank (ADB) . Medium and long-term funds from these institutions are relent by PDCP to qualified private industries. As a project manager at PDCP's General Projects Department, primary duties and responsibilities revolved around the following:
* Marketing of financial services and identification of industrial projects for possible assistance in the form of medium and long term loans and / or equity financing.
* Financial packaging and / or determining optimum mix of debt and equity for firms seeking financial assistance from PDCP.
* Prepare and / or supervise the preparation of project evaluation reports, feasibility studies, and investment studies for approval of management and/or either of the above mentioned international lending institutions.
* Assist in syndication and underwriting activities where PDCP is the lead bank/underwriter.

Projects were medium to large industrial concerns mostly belonging to the top 1000 corporations in the Philippines. These include firms engaged in mining, shipping & transport, ship repair and shipbuilding, electric power generation & distribution, telecommunications, manufacturing, and real estate development.


7. Trans-Philippine Investment Corp.

This is an investment / management company controlling several large firms in the Philippines among which is Binalbagan-Isabela Sugar Company, then the second largest sugar mill / refinery in Asia. As a financial analyst, tasks were concentrated on said sugar company specifically on the following:
* Cash management. Daily monitoring of the company's cash position and scheduling disbursements.
* Preparation of cash flow projections and annual budgets.
* Preparation of periodic analytical reports on actual cash flows versus projections.
* Preparation of studies where excess funds may be invested. Monitoring of investments.
