Technical Skills
Toxicology:
• Having experience in testing parameters of toxicity, concept of Lethal Dose (LC50, LD50, LD1, LD99); NOAEL, LOAEL, ADI, MRL value.
• I have developed Drosophila ecdysone receptor based ex vivo assay to assess different group of chemicals (for example, phytoestrogen, plasticizers, heavy metals, pesticides, parabens, UV-filters and antifoulant) in individually as well as in cocktail manner to evaluate synergistic/antagonistic/additive effect.
Biochemical assays: X-GAL staining and Ortho-nitrophenyl-β-D-galactopyranoside (ONPG) assay.
Microscopy: Familiar with light, fluorescence, stereo and confocal microscopy.
Drosophila biology: Having extensive experience to handle Drosophila, Drosophila stocks maintenance and culture. Drosophila genetics to set standard genetic crosses; classical biological techniques like fecundity, fertility, reproductive performance, emergence assay, survivorship assay and behavior assay.
Project: Optimization of in-vitro micropropagation and Agrobacterium-mediated genetic transformation in banana cultivars (Musa spp.)
Graduate Student with Dr. Siddharth Tiwari, Scientist 'C'
