Deputy Vice President - Business Intelligence & Strategy - Corporate loans, SME loans, Supply Chain Finance and Financial Services Group at IndusInd Bank

• Managing a team of 4 qualified professionals (Direct reporting). My role reports to Head - Corporate & Commercial Banking of the Bank directly.
• Assisting the Head - Corporate & Commercial Banking to formulate and implement business strategy and new initiatives as per the directives from MD & CEO, for mid- corporates (INR 7.5 to 30 Billion turnover), Small & Medium Enterprise (SME) (INR 1.5 to 7.5 billion turnover), lending to Financial Institutions (NBFCs, HFCs etc) and Supply Chain Finance (SCF). Managing business strategy for total loan assets of INR 1 Trillion
• Project Management Lead- To oversee successful implementation of strategic projects. Critically validate the roadmap and KPIs to align with the objectives of strategic initiatives, track progress and report to the top management.
- Implemented the start-up lending programme in the Bank, including getting Board approved programme paper, liaising and engaging with other Bank stakeholders such as Credit and Product teams for carving out start-up specific non-lending products, driving marketing initiatives for start-ups etc.
- Responsible for steering marketing activities for entire corporate and commercial banking (CCBG) segment of the Bank to promote business priorities & objectives. Credited with setting up of corporate banking LinkedIn page of the Bank & driving online marketing campaigns, driving complete revamp of Corporate Bank website, quarterly print-media ads for corporate deals etc.
- Driving ‘New to Bank’ customer project: Identifying expansion opportunities
- Responsible for preparation of road-map for monitoring & implementation of regulatory changes conveyed by The Central Bank and mandates/policies of the Board of Directors
- Driving critical hygiene issues in the Bank (Impact - Achieved 33% reduction in pending
security perfection & other document deferrals within units since joining)
• Tracking sales productivity on a weekly basis to identify weak regions/locations as well as manpower/capacity planning for expansion to new and existing regions
• Peer bench-marking & market scanning: Tracking peer bank performance to identify competition strategy and financial performance. Scanning the financial services industry for best practices & latest trends for implementation within the Bank
Business Finance/Financial Planning and Analysis -
- Successfully laid out 5 & 3 year business plan & strategy. Prepared presentation on the
same for submission to MD & CEO of the Bank
- Responsible for monthly yield analysis to ensure budget achievement, interest rate hike pass on to clients, timely rate resets etc. Impact: Successfully identified low priced clients to increase interest rates in line with Central Bank rate hikes and risk profile, by benchmarking with primary debt issue rates of these low priced clients
- Cost analysis - Responsible for monthly expense analysis to identify expense drivers and ensure cost control. Impact: Successfully saved 20% cost of mid corporate loans by identifying erroneous allocation of DICGC liability insurance premium amongst BUs.
Associate Vice President - Corporate Strategy & Head - Investor Relations, IIFL Group (40000+ employees, 4000+ branches)
• Managed a team of 5 qualified professionals (direct reporting). My role was reporting to the Group Chief Financial Officer directly
• Prepared annual budgets for all retail loan products in the Company such as - Gold loan, Home Loan, secured business loans, Commercial Vehicle loan and Micro Finance loan having loan assets under management up to INR 550 Billion (USD 6.6 Billion)
• Coordinated and successfully delivered revenue and cost financial planning processes including quarterly performance reviews, half-year reviews and five-year strategic plan for all loan products to achieve profitability targets
• Successfully designed and developed a comprehensive monthly management dashboard, a first in the Company, which included various parameters for each business such as - new business generated, channel wise business, productivity ratios, traction of new initiatives undertaken in the Company, etc.
