• Managed insurance funds in equity and fixed income. Dealing and develop commercial relationships with primary dealers, brokers, banks etc. Managed daily and periodic cash flows and developed investment strategies for these funds.
• Managed operational aspect of fund management though dealing with internal and external stakeholders such as custodial banks, financial institutions such primary dealers, investment bank and brokers etc.
• Preparation of investment research reports of companies with recommendation of investment opportunities to Board Investment Committee in equity and fixed income investments. Further analysis the credit worthiness of companies.
• Conducting financial reporting (IFRS) and MIS reporting for fund performance for equity and fixed income and conduct monthly reconciliations and variances of these funds.
• Monitor performance of equity and fixed income securities on a periodic basis and prepare updates for the Board Investment Committee and preparation of management accounts for finance division.
• Managed unit linked investment portfolios and responsible for daily processes of calculating unit prices and dealing with external parties such as custodial banks, primary dealers, brokers, external fund managers etc.
• Was a core team member of the Union Assurance SAP treasury and risk management module implementation. I have given the leadership in developing Business Intelligence module and involved in other key functions of SAP treasury and risk management.
• Develop longer term business relationships with clients, in order to buy and sell equity investment securities. Conducted all activities related to relationship management.
• Managed equity investment portfolio’s of institutional investor, high net worth individuals & retail clients. Presented investment opportunities to potential and existing investors.
• Analysis of financial statements, annual reports & decision making for large scale investors and retail investor.
• Built team strategies in stock purchase & selling. Follow up activities relating to recovery of funds provided for margin trading.
• Preparation of quarterly return statements on large scale portfolios and forecasting for future returns for such portfolios.
• Analyzed and presented of macroeconomic factors and forecasted such variables based on historical data, market variables and trends.
• Analyzed of fixed income market, forex market, and prepare reports, updates and reports to senior management and customers. Prepared a proposal to commence fixed income unit trust product.
• Conducted valuations of listed and non-listed companies and prepare reports and presentations to the management. Analyzed financial statement of listed companies and forecasting for future financial statements by analyzing financial and non financial information.
• Conducted detail financial analysis of companies and conducted relative and absolute valuations with appropriate recommendations.
• Preparation of reports on equity securities and fixed income securities with appropriate buy and sell recommendations. Further I was responsible for conducting meetings, preparation of reports and provide updates to investment advisors.

• Attended various seminars conducted on financial security market activities by the Securities and Exchange Commission, Colombo Stock Exchange and Central Bank.
