I am basically infrastructure Administrator. I am responsible for installing, Configuring and Managing the Windows servers (2008/2012) and VMware Esxi hosts as well as Virtual Machines. Roles and Responsibilities:
Windows:
•The setup and maintenance of new infrastructure of Windows 2003/2008/2012 Server Edition, Domain Controller, DNS Servers, DHCP Servers, File Server.
•Windows OS & AD Incident/Production Management
•Installing, Configuring and Managing AD / DHCP / DNS Services.
•AD Replication monitoring and regular health checks to be performed.
•Creating Group Policies and implementation as per standard procedures.
•RAID Configurations and Disk management utilities tools.
•Perform Security Health Check of Windows servers and other compliance related activities.
•Coordinating with different lines of services with SLA.
•3rd party vendor coordination for visit and troubleshooting
•Controlled shutdown and restart of services and dependencies
•Console operations - verify system availability
•Monthly check of assets against CMDB
•Daily Operating System alert handling and response
•Quarterly / half yearly password maintenance and scheduling
•Ticket Status Check and Update

VMware:
•Installing, Configuring and Managing VMware infrastructure environment with ESXi 5.x/6, x servers, Virtual machines.
•VM Servers build & rebuild (Deploying the New VM from the Template and Cloning an Existing VM) as per the client request through change management process.
•Creating and managing VMWare cluster. Enabling HA and DRS features in a cluster.
•Configurations of Virtual switches and network connections.
•P2V and V2V conversions by using VMware Converter.
•Performing Snapshots, Cloning, cold migrations and hot migrations.
•Creating templates from VM’s and deploy VM’s from templates and allocate resources.
•Creating duplicate VM’s using cloning technology.
•Moving VM’s from one LUN to another LUN using Storage VMotion.
•Configuring alarms and Manage task, events and alarms.
•Root Cause & System Log Analysis and reporting.
•Troubleshooting problems with the help of Event Logs.
•Troubleshooting virtual machine issues.
•Configuring RAID levels 0, 1 and 5.

•ESX Storage Monitoring using Veeam monitoring tool and in case of any retired datastores accordingly evacuating the VM’s to safest datastores.
