1. Coordination with project manager & construction manager in the selection of the most economical & proper materials according to project specification.
2. Develop material mixing & proportioning ( Asphalt, Concrete, Road base material, etc) and follow up the consultant approval.
3. Evaluate vendors.
4. Ensure about materials mixing & proportioning according to manufacture instructions.
5.Undertake research and testing in accordance with Standard Test Procedures.
6.Carry out periodic reviews of materials testing procedures to ensure they meet current needs.
7. Provide advice to field divisions on relevant issues of construction materials.
8.Carry out maintenance works of Lab offices and equipment etc.
9. Ensure that all lab equipment are in correct working order and are properly calibrated.
10. Review lab equipment needs and report to Director.
11.Arrange tests for which testing facilities are not available in the regional Laboratories.
12. Manage and supervise the laboratory technicians and ensure that all test procedures are complied with international standards.

15.Ensure that the environmental mitigation measures for rehabilitation and use of material sources are complied with.
16. Carry out investigation of particular failures in road/bridge construction works and propose solutions.
