Responsibilities:
Obtaining Project requirements from Faculty, Researchers and Designing the Best solutions as per Masdar Institute standards .
Managing Highly available Masdar Institute Websites, Database servers with Redhat Cluster Suite .
Configuring, Managing and monitoring Zen load balancers and HAproxy .
Configuring, Managing and monitoring 389 Directory LDAP servers, Owncloud in-house cloud stoage solution .
Installing & Managing Redhat Linux v6.x, v5.x SLES 11 on Dell poweredge Blades, Dell Poweredge R710, 720 to test the compatibility of Hardware and test the teller application on top of it.
Server Hardening.
Trouble shooting server issues.
Managing iDRAC, iLOs for servers and Firm Ware upgrades.
OS Package Updates, Remote Administration.
Creating Yast and YUM for updating and Managing the packages for Development Team.
Server Health Checkups.
Creating and Installing the Ubuntu 14, RHEL5.x, 6.x and Centos on VMs for Dev team to test the applications in ESXi environment.
Taking snapshots to preserve the VM state for Dev and QA teams.
Creating template for VMs, deploying VM from the template, converting into the template & etc for dev team and testing team.
Installation, configuration and administration of Openstack private cloud computing,
Creating Resource pools for equal sharing where required and priority sharing as per the application and server utilization.
Coordinating with different teams to completed the tasks like Vendor team, Software Distribution Team and Release co-ordination team.
Creating LUNS as per Server and DB team requirement Using EMC Navisphere/Unisphere , Netapp oncommand manager.
Presenting the LUNs to the Hosts (Windows, Linux, VMware).
SAN switches Administration.
Ensuring multiple paths configured for all hosts through EMC Power Path, & MPIO.
Troubleshooting the SAN connectivity issues on different operating systems like Windows, Linux and ESX.
Coordinating with vendors for any kind of hardware failures, Code upgrades and following up with support for any engineering issues, features implementation etc
