Develop and lead major fleet wide modification projects. Prepare aircraft technical specifications and coordinate fleet standardization activities involving more than one specialty. Provide technical consultations to management on the implementation of major projects. Establish communication with regulatory agencies, manufacturers and service providers representing the airline on technical issues. Review periodic reliability reports and devise means that improve dispatch reliability at an optimum cost. Coach junior engineering staff on avionics engineering related skills.
Coordinate engineering, maintenance program and planning personnel on retrofit and reliability improvement engineering activities. Monitor the airline’s A350 fleet performance as well as the industry experience for proactive maintenance actions. Chair weekly fleet reliability review meetings with engineering, MCC, line maintenance and procurement representatives.
Evaluate manufacturer proposed modifications. Make reliability analysis of various aircrafts and components. Attend technical meetings besides communicating with vendors and regulatory agencies. Assist in developing improvements in maintenance and operation procedures. Design modifications or alterations and prepare engineering documents, manage aircraft avionics systems modification projects. Perform technical analysis on recorded flight data.
Prepare documents for the compliance of airworthiness directives and manufacturer service bulletins. Investigate aircraft system discrepancies, provide technical support and propose engineering solutions for maintenance activities. Design modifications or alterations and prepare engineering documents. Participate in avionics related engineering projects.
Trouble shoot, repair, test and return to service avionics components from various aircraft systems; prepare release to service certificates for the components repaired.
