Reporting to the CFO, leading a team of 15 people (2 direct reports). Providing costing services to 3 Nestle markets comprising 20 Operating companies, 21 factories with a total revenue of USD 2.8 billion.
Costing lines involved are COGS, MOGE and Distribution. We use ABC costing and Nestle costing guidelines to execute, analyze, troubleshoot and provide guidance on Transfer price, Manufacturing costing, white-collar costing and distribution costing.
Establishment of Internal Control Subject Matter Experts Group across centers, reduction of monthly closing execution from 3rd working day to first working day of the month. Reduction of the center's expenses and improvement of efficiencies.
• Project management - Scope expansion, successful transition of costing services of Nestlé Turkey and Nestlé South Africa to center. On time reporting.
• Perform analysis/ variance analysis on financial reports and provide support to the business/functional controllers and lead their respective business review meetings.
• Successful roll out of several analytical reporting tools for Transfer Price, White collar, Factory Cost and forecasting. Improvement of monthly book closing timing from 3rd working day of month to first day
• Aid markets to build forecasting tools for production cost and structural costs.
• Ensure proper usage of SAP system for execution and analysis. Keep tracks of all incidents or requests raised by markets to be closed as per the SLA.
• Supervise and coordinate finance processes (monthly period end closing activities for actual cost, yearly budget, and dynamic forecasts).
• Responsible for full compliance of Costing Standards, Nestle Accounting Standard and IFRS within own area of responsibilities/department. Ensure internal control self-assessment is performed regularly.
As Factory Controller, I have influenced with integrity the organization then improved by 10% factory fixed overhead cost and reduced by 5% material usage loss through DMAIC (Define Measure Analyze Improve and Control) process. Design and implement stock count process that reduce by 50% spare part losses.
• Lead strategic financial analysis relating to major or strategic decisions related to the factory to ensure full transparency of costs and non-financial implications.
• Created internal controls and corrective actions to reduce risk or deficiencies.
• Oversaw financial reporting, accounts payable and receivable, fixed asset coordination, account management, factory treasury and internal control.
• Prepared and presented operational reports to senior management and executive teams. Build annual budget and compared actual expenses against projected budget.
• Coach and develop the factory personnel with focus on finance individuals & team including career and succession planning.
Reduction by 11% of white-collar expenses (MOGE), improvement by 4% of Marginal Contribution in providing visibility on product mix and variable distribution costs; USD 40 million of revenue. Awarded first time quality reporting prize. Implementation of zero-based annual budget. 2nd runner-up of marketing innovation project.
• Responsible for all finance and Control related aspects (Business Planning, forecasting, costing, period-end closing & reporting), with one direct report.
• Provide full transparency on main business KPI's across the entire Nestlé organization via the establishment of daily, weekly, monthly, yearly financial, and non-financial reports to both local management.
• Manage and develop a team of financial analysts and managers; define & provide training within finance and control and other functional areas.
• Zero base budget building and budget controlling.
• Ensuring accurate, transparent, consistent, and timely Financial Accounting records and reporting submissions, in full compliance with Nestle Accounting Standard (IFRS) and other corporate and legal standards.
• In charge of Internal control, compliance self-assessment. External auditors (PwC or E&Y) point of contact.
Design and implementation of IT infrastructure of Nestle Congo at Head Office, sales offices, distribution centers, and Factory. 125 employees with a local server room.
Successful deployment of SAP at Nestle Congo as Project Manager.
Business intelligence lead. Managing budget of USD 2.5 mio.
Management of IT department including sub-contractors and direct report.
Assist the I.T. Manager.
Develop local application on Microsoft Access. Perform maintenance of I.T. equipment, network administration and helpdesk support activities. Train DHL Congo personal (+60) on Microsoft Office and I.T. at workplace tools.
