Nature of Job
A Project Nurse is someone who provides for and delivers health and safety programs and services to workers, worker populations and community groups. The practice focuses on promotion and restoration of health, prevention of illness and injury, and protection from work-related and environmental hazards. Occupational and environmental health nurses have a combined knowledge of health and business that they blend with health care expertise to balance the requirement for a safe and healthful work environment with a ‘healthy’ bottom line. Assess and give first aid treatment to injured and sick workers.
Basic Tasks
*Documenting and keeping a record of every patient given first aid treatment.
*Educating every patient of health promotion and health prevention activities.
*Referring patient if treatment is not possible through first aid.
*Investigating and analyzing injury trends, research possible occupational hazards, and collaborating with the safety manager.
*Managing and keep a record of OTC drugs available in the clinic.
*Representing health department when there is ES&H (Environmental, Safety, and Health) audit by the client.

Nature of Job
A Nurse Deployment Project (NDP) Nurse is the almost the same with Registered Nurse for Health Enhancement and Local Services (RNhelas) Nurse which is focus on improving local health systems that will support the country’s attainment of Universal Health Care or “Kalusugan Pagkahalatan.” The nurse is deployed in the 20 poorest provinces and 1, 233 focus municipalities of the National Anti-Poverty Commission (NAPC) and the Department of Social Welfare and Development’s (DSWD) Pantawid Pamilya Program (3Ps) or Conditional Cash Transfer (CCT) areas of the Philippines. The only difference is the salary and additional health reporting.
Basic Tasks
*Assisting in the implementation of Health Programs under Universal Health Care/Kalusugan Pangkalahatan, which includes: Prenatal check-up, Expanded Program on Immunization, Garantisadong Pambata- Vitamin A Supplementation and Deworming, Tuberculosis- Directly *Observe Treatment Shourtcourse (TB- DOTS), Dental and Medical Consultation.
*Providing technical assistance in the implementation of health.
*Assisting in training and education of community people.
*Assisting in supervision and monitoring of Community Health Team (CHT) members.
*Assisting in conduct of monitoring and evaluation of health programs.
*Assisting in preparation and analysis of gathered health data.

Nature of Job
Emergency room (ER) nurse work in critical care emergency facilities to assist doctors and work with emergency medical technicians in helping people in pain and possibly life-threatening trauma. ER nurse work as part of a team with physicians, other nurses and healthcare professionals to provide care, monitor health conditions, plan long-term care needs, administer medicine, use medical equipment, perform minor medical operations, and advise patients and their families on illness, care and continued care after a hospital stay. Emergency rooms are often the first line of defense for accidents, allergic reactions, and any number of urgent medical care. ER nurse work to quickly assess the needs of each patient, prioritize care based on its critical nature, and work to stabilize a patient, treat the problem, discharge the patient after the emergency is over or make arrangements for a longer hospital stay.
Basic Tasks
Under direct supervision of a regular staff nurse, responsible for delivering nursing care to patient within an assigned area as:
*Triaging patient based on their medical need.
*Preparinh the unit and admission of the patient to Emergency Room/ER
*Evaluating and recording of patient's conditions.
*Assisting in various procedures like Intubation, Chest Tube Insertion, and Foley's Catheter Insertion etc.
*Providing bed side nursing care.
*Preparing the patient for various investigations like X-ray, ECG, Ultrasound, etc.
*Monitoring vital signs and report to the physician.
*Administering medication and treatments as prescribed by the physician.
*Collecting of samples, evaluate and record the results.
*Providing psychological support to the patient and relatives.
*Maintaining barrier nursing techniques and prevent cross infection.
*Following medical and surgical asepsis.
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is a four year degree program that teaches students the necessary skills and knowledge to care for the sick and injured. The program revolves around four main components; health promotion, disease prevention, risk reduction and health restoration. The course consists of subjects in General Education (English, Mathematics, Filipino) and Professional Nursing (Theoretical Foundations in Nursing, Nursing Care Management).
The second level or secondary education corresponds to four years of high school, the prerequisite of which is completion of the elementary level. A student enters the secondary level at age 12 and graduates at 15.
