Currently heading Marketing and Communications of a young, boutique property development company with projects located in Arjan, Dubailand. Going beyond that, the role involves directing the following core activities: developing all departments within the company; establishing corporate culture; defining protocols;
formulating strategies, creating budgets; and managing the overall administration of the organization, i.e. setting up policies and processes, ensuring adherence to legal and regulatory requirements, and so on.
Responsible for the planning and execution of Marketing, Communications and Public Relations campaigns of a new community development project of nearly 8, 000 apartments, located in Meydan. Core activities include selection and management of agencies and channel partners; establishing the corporate and project brands; developing go-to-market strategies, tactical plans and budgets; event organizing, mall activation plans and exhibition participations; and assisting in product development (i.e. unit layouts and interior design features) in accordance with the Real Estate Regulatory Agency’s and Dubai Municipality’s regulations. Decision-making based on intensive research and analysis is a key element of this role, which is achieved by leading cross-functional teams to gather relevant data, comprehensively document and present findings to the top management.
Brought on board to re-structure the Sales and Marketing operations. Managed combined staff of 46 people, handling projects in Dubai, Sharjah and overseas. Streamlined and targeted Marketing activities making them measurable. Organised the Sales department. Set up the leasing division. Evaluated the feasibility of acquiring property projects to add to the company’s portfolio. This involved regularly measuring progress, monitoring profitability against set objectives and recommending the way forward, realising the CEO’s vision of a building one-stop-property-shop.
Achieved profitability within one year, getting a head start on the three-year objective of creating a profit
centre out of an under-performing BTL advertising agency — the holding company’s newly acquired Business Unit. Re-structured the company; managed an intensive re-branding exercise; re-engineered operations; regained redundant clientele; developed new business accounts; and expanded the range of services, leading change in the company, transforming it into a full-service agency.
Initially recruited to gain market share within the UAE and increase exposure across the MENA region,
especially Saudi Arabia and Qatar, for the corporate video production unit. Created comprehensive
Marketing campaigns and led the sales team to developing new accounts. Independently produced event, corporate and promotional videos — managing the crew, the equipment and the talent — and even getting involved in post-production. Managed the establishment and operations of a new Strategic Business Unit that pioneered new (at that time) technology called VOILA for seamless live streaming over the Internet.
Capitalising on Dubai Police’s security and monitoring requirements, spearheaded the company’s corporate sales division, supplying CCTV and access control systems to the hospitality and retail sectors. Took on the onus of tactical Marketing and Product Development at group level. On aggregate, the role required strong focus on management by objectives, encompassing four functional areas within the division — strategy and
planning; recruitment and training; market coverage; and production of all division Marketing collateral —
and two core areas across the group — implementation of tactical Marketing campaigns, expanding the product portfolio.
Appointed as Account Executive, the role’s primary objectives were: maximising territorial market coverage and increasing revenue from Hawk Business Pages (UAE’s first business directory), Hawk Product Finder, and the Dubai Media City Directory. Rewarded for superior performance in almost every campaign.
Area of responsibility extended from showroom sales to incorporating the Contract Sales division, and then
to Marketing. The role entailed prospecting for hotel and furnished apartment projects, negotiating furniture supply contracts and assisting the General Manager with planning advertising campaigns.
Responsible for compiling a restaurant guide. First, this involved getting restaurants to participate as
sponsored features. Following that, the area of responsibility expanded to encompass all content creation, photography and copywriting.
