• Designing and Developing classroom hand-outs, PowerPoint presentations, Instructor guides, lesson plans, and On-job training guides for engineering trainees.
• Conducting engineering assessments, which includes Task performance assessments, simulator assessments, classroom theoretical assessments, e-learning assessments and competency-based assessments.
• Coordinating work placement and apprenticeship visits for trainees

Gert Sibande TVET is a vocational education training institute. As engineering instructor, I had the following duties and responsibilities:
- I supervised students on work-placement;
- prepared assessments and assessed learners for competency.
- Conducted theory and practical lessons in engineering courses such as CAD-CAM; fabrication; machining (lathe & milling work).
- I was involved in internal moderation of engineering assessments and provided feedback to external verification body.
- I oversaw engineering workshop assistants in ensuring that targets are met within set timeframe. - Prepared budgets and purchase orders for workshop consumables and equipment.
-As campus staff leader, I chaired meetings, resolved staff concerns and acted as link between staff and top management.
- I supervised trainees on work-placements
As maintenance artisan/instructor I was involved in:
- Plant maintenance
- Assisting new apprentices with training and development.
- Performed preventative and/or corrective maintenance including trouble shooting on plant and equipment.
- I also carried out tasks on machining components on various machines and did fabrication tasks.
- Helped in planning training plan for new apprentices and on-the-job trainees.
As an apprentice, I went through training that included plant maintenance, worked on equipment such as pumps, hydraulics and pneumatics, gearboxes, calibration of equipment and troubleshooting on various mechanical set-ups and workshop housekeeping.
Also worked on machining machines, basic hand and power tools.
