As Zonal Head (West), I am responsible for heading the Retail Sales of Life Insurance products through our key Distributors (Canara Bank / HSBC Ltd. / Oriental Bank of Commerce).
I manage the largest territory (in terms of target numbers) and one of the largest Sales & Business Support teams in the country, and have been contributing to c 25% of the country's topline numbers.
I also manage 7 key Distributor Relationships across the 3 Banks, and have handled the HSBC Core Relationship between April 2010 and October 2012.
Being an initial member (6 months into the inception of this company), I have led many significant projects including Product / Process Development / Concept Selling / Sales Promotions / Contest Design & Development / Compliance Workshops / Incentive Schemes.
I have spent c 8 years with HSBC Ltd. (Bank) in India, with major stints as Branch Manager / Operations Manager / Service Manager.
With the HSBC Group, I have worked in Mumbai, Bangalore, and Kolkata, and have significant experience at working in cross-cultural environments.
Apart from gaining International exposure through various interactions with Asia-Pacific and UK personnel, I have also attended a 2-month Induction Program at HSBC UK in 2002.
Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore (IIM-B) is one of the top 3 institutes for Management education in India, and is widely regarded as producing some of the best Marketing and Operations Management talents in the country. During my 2-year full time Post Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDM) program, I have elected for major credits in Marketing courses, followed by Operations Management. I completed a successful Summer Internship with SmithKline Beecham Ltd. (now Glaxo SmithKline), and worked on the brand positioning of their flagship product "Horlicks". I was placed with HSBC India from campus, and joined their Consumer Banking division in April 2001.
