In mid-2021 I joined CEO magazine Sri Lanka as a freelance graphic designer and was involved in not only designing the layouts but also closing the magazine and dealing with the printers and checking its quality of it. I was also involved in directing photoshoots of the clients and working alongside studios and photographers. I was also involved in the recruitment of new members for the design team.
I joined and then lead the design team at Echelon, an influential business and innovation magazine in Sri Lanka. Echelon is published in English (online at echelon.lk), and targets an intellectual elite and those keen to understand the implication of policy, economy, and governance issues on private enterprise. And also I worked alongside an experienced team at Echelon and Economynext.com, an affiliated digital brand. I led a team of seven members who variously had output in print layouts, photography, designing social media content, and organizing the design workflow. I was involved in recruitment and mentored team members. My work also involved on occasion delivering client commissioned design work including for social media and publications.
I was working there as a creative designer as well as a creative director (BTL) mostly creating promotional campaigns, paper advertisements, and package and label designs. And also I was involved in pitching ideas from the creative side in meeting with clients meetings and also the in-house team meetings.
While I was in my university final year, it was a requirement for the internship. So, I joined Music.lk (GalleZone Solutions Pvt. Ltd.) Initially, I was creating social media posts and managing the pages, and later I was involved in creating storyboards, and animations and also in the hiring process for actors’ Screen tests
As soon as I finished my higher secondary education I joined Softwave Printing and Packaging (PVT) Ltd. Where I got to learn to interact with customers and design the artwork accordingly. Then as a graphic designer, I was promoted to creating and dealing with new contacts with international customers as a customer care officer white creating amazing
artworks for client’s requirements
