Major responsibilities : ➢ Examining eyes and visual system ➢ Refraction (subjective & objective) ➢ Diagnose problems or impairments ➢ Prescribe corrective lenses and provide treatment ➢ Contact lens prescription ➢ Identifying more serious optical diseases, such as glaucoma or cataracts ➢ Carrying out pre-screening such as visual field testing & pressure checking ➢ Promote eye health by teaching patients about proper eye care techniques. ➢ Orthoptic examination ➢ Lensometry (verification & inspection of spectacle lenses) ➢ Making follow up appoinments for customers
