Ashmita Maharaj

I am currently employed as a Homeroom and English Teacher at a public school in South Africa, teaching Grades 4-6. I hold a B.Ed Intermediate Phase qualification. My responsibilities include planning and delivering English lessons, assessing learner progress, managing classroom behaviour, and supporting learners’ academic and personal development through Personal and Social Well-being (PSW).

I also assist with school sports, coaching netball and soccer, where I encourage teamwork, discipline, and school spirit.

My key achievements include creating engaging lesson plans that improve learner participation and understanding, supporting learners of different ability levels to achieve progress in English, and contributing positively to both academic and extracurricular programmes within the school.
