Reporting to Chairperson & Manger, Department of Community Health Sciences, lead overall IT operations of Department of Community Health Sciences that consist of 200+ staff, students & faculty in-house and off-campus.
• Plan, Design, Develop and Implement solution that comply with quality standards and technical requirements.
• Supervise team of professionals in Information Systems Unit, Department of Community Health Sciences.
• Responsible to provide end user computing support (Tier 1 & Tier 2, Tier 3 assistance only) to 200+ users/nodes as team leader in CHS Dept.
• Responsible to liaison with AKU-Purchase for IT equipment procurement (Hardware, Software license), market research for IT accessories & vendor negotiation.
• Responsible for server administration & management including data server, print accounting & administration server, IIS server etc. in CHS Dept.
• Responsible to look after data management activities for research projects of graduate students & faculty including consultancy, DE program designing and development, DE training, consultancy for code book designing, budgeting etc.
• Responsible to lead computer skills training for graduate students & short courses in CHS dept.
• Responsible to plan computer expansion and upgration of systems in CHS dept.
• Responsible for web content designing for CHS dept.
Reporting to Coordinator, Information Systems Unit lead MIS documentations and data management tasks.
Major Responsibilities:
• Responsible for data management activities for research projects
• Responsible to analyze IT solution requirement within dept, their deployment and management
• Responsible for Document Management Systems administration (MOSS 2007 based)
Additional Responsibilities:
• Facilitate / assist in several computer related trainings within department
• Involve in Masters and short course teaching related to computer skills
• Responsible to manage IT support activities within department
Reporting to Senior Computer Training Officer, Information Systems Unit looking after End-User Computing Support for the Department.
Major Responsibilities:
• Network and system administration, monitoring and support for about 300 nodes within department and outside offices in Karachi and Chitral and ensure quality network setup
• Responsible for IT support and network / server management activities
Additional Responsibilities:
• Data Manager for research projects as:
o MISOprostal study for 03 years in collaboration with Guinuity Inc, USA
o Several small scale research projects
• Responsible for communication with other departments and vendors regarding softwares and computer hardware issues within department
• Responsible to coordinate with administration and purchase dept. regarding purchase of laptops and other computer accessories
• Assist faculty for computer trainings sessions
