COATING:
Inspection of various types of coatings such as:
• Internal and External Fusion Bonded Epoxy (FBE) coating. Inspection involved as follows:-
• Review of Raw Material Certificates (FBE powder, PP, PE, adhesive and liquid paint). Witnessing of abrasive sieve analysis. Witnessing of various laboratory tests pertaining to aforesaid coatings as per the relevant specification, procedure and/or standard in order to approve the material for use of the project.
• Inspection of bare material (oil, grease and other mechanical defects).
• Acid washes cleaning, Monitoring of preheating prior to abrasive cleaning keeping in view the weather conditions and temperature monitoring while coating application.
• Preparation of Qualification Tests.
• Monitoring Relative Humidity, Ambient Temperature and the Dew point temperature at shot and grit abrasive blast station. Keep on checking the ambient conditions during the production activities.
• Surface preparation Inspection (Shot and Grit Blasting, Garnet blasting, etc…).
• Inspection test for Residual Chlorides contamination using by Silver Nitrate test.
• Surface preparation Cleanliness Inspection after abrasive blasting in reference to Swedish International Standard (SIS -05-59-00 Pictorial Standard) which was contained in BS 7079 Preparation of Steel Substrate prior to application of paints and related products. Checking Profile of Abrasive Blasted Surface using Press-O-film (Testex Coarse or X- Coarse) and Micrometer.
• Pipe dustiness, degree of cleanliness & roughness profile.
• Monitoring of coating application activities.
• Checking of coating thickness, cut backs, Bevel ends etc. as per the approved procedure and specification.
• Monitoring of holiday testing, repair of holidays and rectification of other coating defects.
• Monitoring instrument calibration (Coating thickness gauge, Temperature indicator gauge, Roughness gauge, Micrometre, Holiday detector) and other instruments to be used for the said inspection.
• Final Inspection of coated pipes.
• Monitoring of testing activities.
• Inspection of Blasting and painting of structural steel work, manifolds, MSV/Chemical Injection Skids, Internal and external blasting and coating of various diameter pipe lines and review of painting reports.
• Scheduling & monitoring of painting activities such as blasting and painting.
• Inspection of internal and external blasting cleaning, FBE coating, liquid coating, fittings and prefabricated spools. Inspections of shop and field girth weld coating.
WELDING:
• To follow all quality control procedure, inspection and test plan.
• Reviewing filler wires and electrodes of welding procedure specification.
• Supervision & inspection Welding, preheat & Post Weld Heat Treatment of weld.
• Dealing with Client and TPI for Stage wise inspection.
• Welding inspection of piping, pressure vessels and structures.
• Conduct welder qualification test for various clients.
• Prepare and maintain corporate project specific documentation.
• Monitor calibration of inspection and testing equipment.
• Perform all other duties as may be assigned.
• Supervise and Coordinate the Quality Control & Assurance activities.
• Implementation of the Quality Control & Assurance Plans to ensure that equipment’s are manufactured as the highest standard.
• Verification of Material traceably records and ensures that only acceptable materials are used.
• Inspecting Joint Configuration of Fit up prior to weld as per WPS
• Checking the drawing, materials and consumable certification
• Checking the method of cutting and weld preparation
• Surveillance of welding parameters / Consumables for compliance with WPS
• Performing Welder Qualification Tests for various welding procedure specifications as per ASME section IX.
• Monitoring the heat treatment processes
• Reviewing the test packages
• Witnessing the hydro & pneumatic testing
