Responsibilities and duties assigned to me in the capacity of Assistant Accountant enabled me to utilize & gain knowledge in wider aspects of the Company, as detailed below
➢ Involved in Job costing for the manufacturing of goods done in discrete batches and recording in ledger accounts throughout the life of the job.
➢ Preparation of monthly and quarterly Final accounts (Balance sheet, Cash flow & income Statement)
➢ Preparation of various financial statements related to the accounting department (invoice sheets, receipts, credit statements and expense accounts)
➢ Handling accounts payables, receivables and management of both debtors and creditors aging and ensuring payments and receipts are done on time.
➢ Responsible for the Preparation of Bank reconciliation and ensure about the checks and drafts of company that they are archived and organized in a systematic manner
➢ Recording of journal entries into respective journals and ledgers from time to time and maintain the general ledger perfectly
➢ Management of inventory by ensuring the match of purchase orders and receipts, Material requests and issues
Comprehensive Management training in the capacity of Finance Executive enabled me to practice the major aspects of Finance Department, as detailed below.
➢ Responsible for Periodically & Quarterly report preparation according to GAAP standards (Balance Sheet Analysis-BSA, Cash Investments-CI, Capital Spending Report-CSR, Statement of Income-SOI etc)
➢ Performing & assisting statutory audits (External), internal audits, agreed upon preparation and review of financial statements in accordance with International and Sri Lanka Auditing Standards. (2006/2007, 2007/2008, 2008/2009 & 2009/2010)
➢ Assisting Senior Management in decision making through preparation of vital reports (Budget Preparation-IT & MMD, Variance Analysis, Letter of Credit & MDC Management etc)
➢ Actively involved in whole TAX calculation and completion and whereby ensuring timely filling returns to the Department of Inland Revenue of Sri Lanka and achieving efficiency and effectiveness (VAT, SVAT, NBT, WHT, ESC)
➢ Handling Accounts Payables/Accounts Receivables process, Inventory Management & Journal Entries in JDE (JD Edwards an ERP system)
➢ Preparation of Insurance Schedules, Lease Schedules, PPE schedules, etc & Amortization/Depreciation
➢ Data gathering and Statistics reports (Labor Cost, Farm vise Cost)
➢ Assisting Whole Dole Staff with every IT related issues (Installing Lotus Notes Client & various Softwares, JDE Trouble Shoots, Network Trouble Shoots, Hardware and software repairs)
Responsibility assigned to me in the capacity of Accounts Assistant included, Handling day to day book keeping, Handling of Inventories, Handling Accounts payables & receivables, Meeting tight monthly cash budget by managing cash book, Preparation and Presentation of cost reports for the monthly cost review.
