Deployed in Primary Health Care Corporation (PHCC) for delivering a programme of service development and redesign based on 8 models of care in strategy
• Providing expert advice on distinct areas including architectural design of new health center to ensure efficient patient flow, National Emergency and Urgent Care Service specification design, Annual Health Checks as part of National Health Insurance and implementation of Cerner Information System.
• Managing and leading a team of Senior Project Managers and Bio statisticians and responsible for programme management including client communication, scoping and budgeting, planning and monitoring, management of risks and issues and quality control.
Deployed in Primary Health Care Corporation (PHCC) to co-author Qatar’s first National Primary Healthcare Strategy 2013-2018 and to develop key systems and processes in the organization
• Responsible for wide scale Physicians and other Clinicians engagement across Qatar to design the vision of primary care and conduct research on international best practice to design ‘walk in service’ and ‘non communicable diseases’ models of care that are best fit for the population of Qatar.
• Designed system and processes for Clinical Affairs Directorate including clinical governance framework, clinical competency framework (physicians) and clinical guidelines approval system.
• Fast track promotion to manage the implementation of Government’s Independent Reconfiguration Panel recommendations regarding health services reconfiguration in the north east sector of the country.
• Managed a portfolio of projects with partner organizations including Ambulance Service to channel patients, Hospital Geriatric Services to ensure continuity of care, Provision of Children Services in community and Tele Health pilot for diabetic patients.
• Reporting to the Medical Director, was responsible for the takeover of a district hospital to provide community (hospital) services. Provided strategic advice, statistical evidence, clinical intelligence, communication materials and support to the director in public engagement forums
• Determined the clinical, commissioning and financial implication of the takeover, specified the (clinical) staff, qualifications and registration requirements as per the Council for Healthcare Regulatory Excellence and partner regulatory bodies.
• Responsible for delivery of key recommendations from Diabetes National Services Framework namely Type 2 diabetes self-management education programme for patients and engagement of 8 hospitals and 12 Primary Care Trusts in the region to participate in National Diabetes Audit.
• Operationally managed the running of medical directorate and was responsible for meeting national ‘wait times’ target, staff and budget management, development of a ‘walk in centre’ and reducing the overall bed base to reduce costs.
Improved and redesigned cardiology services in tertiary hospital, including optimising efficiency of cardiology catheter labs, reducing outpatient wait times and achieving specialist chest pain clinics national wait time target.
• Responsible for designing and implementing the communication network for clinical staff, development of Psychosis services in community and setting up of certificate and diploma courses for nurses in collaboration with local university.
