Private Cloud:
The project will deliver 2 clouds (private) on a highly available cluster using Microsoft products (windows 2012, Hyper-V, SCCM, SCOM, etc) with a self service portal as well as service templates and automated work flows.
Contingency Planning:
Creation of failovers for all applications as well as databases including core banking application as well as readiness of Disaster Recovery site.
Enterprise Backup:
Project involves planning, and implementation of enterprise backup solution for the bank which will include 2 VTLs (De-duplicated) as well as a an autoloader for archiving of old data. The scope also includes creation of SOPs.
• Planning, implementation. Design and operations of IBM Power Series (P7 and P6) with AIX 5.3 and AIX 6.0 running.
• Planning and design of Superdome 2.
• Planning, implementation. Design and operations of HP Blade Servers.
• Planning, implementation. Design and operations of Hyper-V based virtualization solution.
• Planning, implementation. Design and operations of IBM DS8800 (enterprise class storage).
• Installation and supports server technologies for centralized division, departments and facility equipment including operating system maintenance, application maintenance.
• Provides operational and technical applications support.
• Provides support services to monitor, backup, and diagnose servers and storage equipment; recommends corrective action to failing server and as well as desktop equipment.
• Provides On-call support (24x7) to assist with troubleshooting, escalation, or recovery of failing equipment.
• Supporting and coordinating installation of server and desktop technology for new projects. Participates, as needed, in division/facility technical implementation projects.
• Working closely with PRAL (FBR Vendor), division, and facility personnel to coordinate the implementation and ongoing support of systems physically hosted at the Data Center and facility locations.
• Coordinating sharing of best practices and policies and procedures.
• Interfaces directly with a wide variety of end users and technical counterparts in other division, facility, and corporate roles.
MEMBER OF PRODUCTION HARDWARE AND SOFTWARE EVALUATION TEAM.
Tasks included:
• Review of hardware as well as functional specification of production hardware and software for core banking application.
• Review of design and technologies that included replication, automated backups, virtualization, clusters, big box configurations (IBM POWER SERIES) etc.
• Creation of procedures and policies for the management and administration of production environment.
MEMBER OF SECURITY POLICY ROLLOUT TEAM
Tasks included:
• Create an IT security roll out strategy, test and then implement the strategy.
• Get multiple security policies Implemented including operational security policy, encryption policy, DB password policy, acceptable use policy etc.
• Create security configuration manuals for Oracle DB Server Security, MS SQL Server Database Servers Security, and Windows 2003 Server.
MEMBER OF FIREWALL ZONING TEAM
Tasks included
• Review of applications that need to be shifted to 2 tier architecture.
• Requirement gathering for additional resources for firewall zoning project (additional Servers)
• Demarcation of servers according to Red, Orange and Green Security Zones.
• Implementation of security as per ISO guidelines.
