JASARA (JV of Jacobs, PIF and Aramco) has been assigned for the project of Design, Establishment and Operation of Program Management Office for King Khalid Royal Nature Reserve and Imam Abdul Aziz bin Muhammad Royal Nature Reserve Development Authority where my responsibilities are to:
- Prepare Environmental Project Management Manual in accordance with PMI standards
- Prepare environmental technical guidelines for the client that will be distributed to the PMCs, supervision consultants, and contractors for ongoing and upcoming projects.
- Provide on-job training and knowledge transfer to client’s relevant department.
- Responsible for contributing in review / approve / comment on environmental components of bidding proposal submitted by consultants and contractors.
- Responsible for providing technical inputs within Environmental and Social Impact Assessments, CEMPs, EMS, ecology reports, baseline surveys and other environmental related documentation and review / approve / comment on same from 3rd parties

WSP Middle East is providing delivery partner services to NEOM The Line where my role is to represent NEOM The Line as the Lead of environmental management team and:
 Provide technical inputs within Environmental and Social Impact Assessments, CEMPs, EMS and other environmental related documentation and review / comment on same from 3rd parties.
 Support immediate project team and wider WSP group for inputs into projects and proposals.
 Coordinate with consultants where necessary and undertake baseline surveys for inputs into EIAs and monitoring.
 Ensure that all environmental and sustainability permitting requirements are achieved during design and construction phases.
 Assess environmental performance on projects.
 Ensure the progression of my professional development, through involvement in different types of projects, mentoring and internal/external support and training where necessary
 Coordinate with necessary internal and external stakeholders to support the successful delivery of projects as appropriate within the environmental scope
 Liaising with international lenders for lenders’ technical advisory roles and international assessments.
 Develop environmental audit schedules and perform/assist ISO14001 audits.
 Assist Client to provide advice to all project stakeholders as required

 Monitoring compliance with the environmental requirements set in the CESMP and Environmental Specifications.
 Reviewing the environmental reports that are submitted by the Contractors.
 Reviewing environmental monitoring data submissions.
 Collating data and submitting monthly reports.
 Advising the RE on the interpretation, implementation, and enforcement of the CEMP.
 Recommending rectification of non-compliances with the CEMP and Environmental Specifications before significant impacts occur.
 Take on responsibility for health and safety (as appropriate and with regards to environmental aspects).
 Reporting any significant environmental incidents to relevant regulatory authorities as may be required.
 Reviewing the environmental components of the Contractors’ Work Method Statements.
 Inspecting and reporting on the effectiveness of the method statements’ management and mitigation requirements.
 Maintaining environmental performance records.
 Liaising with an archaeologist or heritage resources practitioner in the case of unearthing of artefacts and/or graves.
 Ensuring environmental awareness training is undertaken by relevant Site personnel

 Lead the review, development, and implementation of project’s Environmental Management Strategy, developing plans, procedures, and procedural guidance for the effective application of sound environmental management practice.
 Oversee the coastal and terrestrial ecosystem against stress during construction
 Conducting and supervision of Environmental Monitoring activities
 Actively participate within the work of the Health, Safety &Environment department, contributing to discussions, effectively communicating information to and from the department, acting as the source of authority and expertise on environmental management matters,
 Implementing CEMP and providing guidance on local GAMEP Environmental regulations.
 Generating environmental action plans for any new issue raised that is not covered in the CEMP
 Running monitoring programs for air quality, noise, marine water and weather, and preparing the related charts and reports which can be presentable to management and client representatives
 Develop and deliver presentations on trend and training basis on different topics like Construction projects environmental management, General environmental inductions, marine and terrestrial spill response, safe refueling practices, General waste management, Food waste management, Waste segregation, Environment friendly machinery/equipment maintenance, POL/chemical spill awareness, storage of chemicals, Pollution prevention etc.
 Conduct and direct activities to identify potential Terrestrial and marine environmental threats to sea water, seagrass, mangroves, corals, migratory birds, mammals, turtles and develop environmental action plans to correct any non-compliance issues and work with operations and management for implementation.
 Assist in house marine biologists regarding mammal identification / stranding, macro benthos survey, and seagrass monitoring, demarcation of turtles’ nests, migratory birds’ eggs etc.
