Dubai. Major business interest in operating a Free Trade Zone, Property Development and management,

Director of Finance
Responsible for the Accounting and Finance function of AED8 billion for the Authority. Directing finance team with 25 head based Dubai. Reporting to CFO of the Authority. Managing budgeting, financial planning, fund
raising, banking & treasury, financial risk management, IFRS accounting & reporting, pricing, external auditing
& internal control.
o Managing business operations with annual turnover of AED800million and assets AED8billion.
o Raised long term debt finance for the Authority in excess of AED1 Billion. Systematically reduced cost of debt from 8%+ to less than 3.5%.
o Restructured existing debt during the ME Financial crisis to match with projected income stream.
Converted short term debt of AED1 billion to 8 years term loan/project finance.
o Negotiated and arranged fixed interest rate swaps to manage interest rate risk. Arranged Interest rate
swap and fixed interest cost with minimum negative carry.
o Reorganised the Finance Department and created new collection team reducing outstanding receivables by 50%.
o Implemented automated process through Oracle and changed major processes that resulted in cost
saving of AED 500, 000 per year without impacting department productivity and customer experience.
o Revamped and automated internal processes to improve efficiency, customer satisfaction and reduction of financial/legal exposure.
o Designed and implemented result oriented department KPI Dashboard.
o Implemented Personal Development plan & process for Finance staff

o Implemented automated cash management system improving treasury and payment process.
o Managed successful and timely opening of Armani Casa chain of stores, 2 cineplexes and 2
entertainment zones in Dubai.
o Negotiated and signed strategic sponsorship agreements (income) with major top brands for edutainment zone in Dubai Mall (Biggest mall in the world) for AED25million.
o Oversaw the IT procurement and Retail software/Oracle Implementation.
