•Risk assessment of all tasks and ensure hazards associated with work activities are identified and controls implemented prior to lift commencement.
•Ensure all crew involved with lifting and rigging activity are competent, experience and approved.
•Ensure personnel are in compliance with the agreed plan for the task.
•Inspect all lifting ancillary before operation to ensure they fit for the task.
•Erection of barrier to restrict access to unauthorized person during lift execution.
•Prepare relevant lifting documents and approved by all parties involved e.g. Lifting Categorization, Permit to Work, Job Safety and Analysis and lift plan prior to task and ensure safe lift.
•Coach the lift crew on safe lifting practice and safe systems of work.
•Ensure compliance with relevant HSE policies and procedures at all times to prevent personnel injury and accident in the workplace.
•Participate in lifting accident and incident investigations.
•Ensure proper housekeeping during and after lift completion.
•Proper documentation and closed- out of all lift pack after operation and for future reference.
•Ensure the availability of certifications for all lifting equipment and accessories and submit same to client for review prior to lift execution.
•Ensure that all cranes and lifting equipment in work place comply with required company specification and standards.
•Selection of lifting accessories and taking into consideration the weight of the load to be lifted and workplace condition.
•Ensure lifting accessories are colour coded in accordance with Nigerdock current colour code.
