1. Planning: Determining what needs to be done, who is going to do it, and when it needs to be done.
• Define and clarify project scope having a clear and agreed definition of my project's scope and managing that scope as the project proceeds is critical for its success. There are actually two types of scope i need to take care of them, Product Scope (is what our end customer cares about) & Project Scope (is all of the work that needs to be done to provide the product or service).
• Develop the project plan.
• Develop the project schedule.
Define the specific activities that need to be performed in order to complete the project.
Determine the sequence of activities.
Estimate activities durations.
• Develop policies and procedures to support the achievement of the project objectives.
2. Organizing:
• Define the organizational structure of the project team
• Identify roles and positions
• Identify services to be provided by external companies
• Staff project positions
3. Leading:
• Setting team direction
• Coordinating activities across different organizational functions
• Motivating team members.
• Assigning work.
4. Controlling
• Measuring: Checking project progress toward meeting its objectives
• Evaluating: Determining the cause of deviations from the plan
• Correcting: Taking corrective actions to address deviations
Reporting to Project Manager
1) Schedule the project in logical steps and budget time required to meet deadlines in coordination with the project manager.
2) Determine labour requirements and dispatch workers to construction sites.
3) Inspect and review projects to monitor compliance with building and safety codes, and other regulations.
4) Interpret and explain plans and contract terms to administrative staff, workers, and clients, representing the owner or developer.
5) Prepare contracts and negotiate revisions, changes and additions to contractual agreements with architects, consultants, clients, suppliers & subcontractors in coordination with the project manager.
6) Obtain all necessary permits and licenses in coordination with the project manager.
7) Direct and supervise workers.
8) Study job specifications to determine appropriate construction methods.
9) Select, contract, and oversee workers who complete specific pieces of the project, such as painting or plumbing.
10) Requisition supplies and materials to complete construction projects.
11) Prepare and submit budget estimates and progress and cost tracking reports.
12) Develop and implement quality control programs.
13) Take actions to deal with the results of delays, bad weather, or emergencies at construction site.
14) Confer with supervisory personnel, owners, contractors, and design professionals to discuss and resolve matters such as work procedures, complaints, and construction problems
