a) Assist the ED and budget-holders in preparing budgets and revisions in line with the Strategic Framework. This involves supporting, facilitating and consolidating the budgets.
b) Monitor the implementation of the approved budget together with the ED.
c) Review existing financial systems on an on-going basis to develop and improve internal controls complying with The Bureau’s policies and procedures.
d) Ensure proper recording of income and expenditure to comply with The Bureau’s and funding agencies/donor requirements.
e) Advise ED and senior staff on financial planning, controlling and monitoring of The Bureau and funding agencies/donor income.
f) Provide support to other Staff of The Bureau on financial matters.
g) Monitor grants to Partners against their program performance, in conjunction with ED and other Bureau staff, and provide Partners with financial technical assistance and other support where necessary.
h) Ensure that the country financial operations comply with all legal and statutory requirements of relevant national legislation and regulations e.g. income tax rules, custom rules, Audits and financial reporting.
i) Safeguard and account for all assets, funds and financial interests of The Bureau.
j) Produce accurate and high quality financial reports on a timely basis to funding agencies/donors, ED and the Board as detailed in the Manual.
