Continued the previous role in leading the Processes and Tools Improvement Initiative in the company in addition to leading different Digital Transformation Programs in cooperation with the internal team in the Cloud Management, the Cyber Security, and the Digital Experience Departments. Process Improvement Expert (May 2018- Dec 2019)
Leading the Processes and Tools Improvement Initiative, a key pillar of the EDiT (Embrace Digital Transformation) Program in the company, to improve and automate the internal business processes in STS and to improve the overall productivity of the company.
The key achievements during my tenure in STS are:
Reviewing, improving, and optimizing 15+ of the internal business processes to better serve the internal stakeholders and to be more agile.
Working with the Internal Automation Team to deliver 30+ digital transformation projects to help the company to move into a Data-Driven organization.
Working with the automation team to establish performance dashboards to facilitating the online performance monitoring and the use of data for decision- making.
Providing training and awareness sessions about Business Process Improvement.
Studied a masters' degree in Engineering Business Management in one of the top 10 universities in the United Kingdome.
Promoted as the manager of the department and continued the previous assignments. The position included managing one direct- report employee to lead the environmental sustainability agenda in the plant.
Led the Environmental Sustainability and Compliance agenda and achieved 6% reduction in Water Usage (saving of $48, 000) and 10% reduction in Energy Usage (saving of $510, 000) during the four-years assignment, for which PepsiCo Jordan was ranked as the first in Water Usage and the fifth in Energy Usage across MEA (Middle East and Africa) region by 2015. Main responsibilities were:
- Implemented ReCon (PepsiCo’s Resources Conservation Program) which includes implementing a portfolio of sustainability projects, conducting periodic health checks and audits for the plant, tracking the environmental sustainability performance internally and with the corporate management and finally promoting the environmental culture through awareness communication and training sessions.
- Led the installation of a new wastewater treatment plant that recycles the process wastewater to be applicable for domestic uses with $1, 200, 000 budget over two years. The responsibilities included all the phases of the projects starting from the project design and vendors' selection and up to the final commissioning and testing.
- Led the implementation of different environmental management systems in the company such ISO 14001, EMIS, and myEHS.
- Implemented GEHSMS (Global Environmental Health and Safety Management System) in the plant including management elements such as: setting objectives, monitoring and measurement for compliance related activities, risk assessment, awareness and training and Internal Auditing.
- Derived cultural change in the company through lunching "Darbak Khadra" Program as the first official program dedicated to increase the environmental awareness between the employees, and to reward the environmental sustainability performance in the company. The program was implemented for three consecutive years.
- Developed the "Environmental Sustainability Educational Portal" as an online tool that can be used to learn about the environmental sustainability commitment in PepsiCo and the sustainability journey and initiatives in Jordan entity.
- Built an "Online Library for the Environmental Sustainability Department" to document the main sustainability projects and initiatives that were implemented in PepsiCo Jordan.
Acted as the Internal Auditor for the Operations Department (including Supply Chain, Procurement, Quality Control, Production and Quality Assurance). Although it was a newly created position covering the major two business cycles in the company (MIM Manufacturing and Inventory Management and PTP: Purchase to Pay), testing results were improved by 36% in PTP and by 58% in MIM during this period. Main responsibilities were:
- Developed the audit plan through applying a systematic methodology for analyzing business processes and procedures, past internal audit reports and past self-testing results.
- Conducted audits according to corporate policies and procedures and according to GCS Model (Global Control Standards which is PepsiCo’s version of COSO/ Sox Financial Controls Framework).
- Conducting investigations in regards to fraud, safeguarding of assets and compliance with policies and procedures to find the gaps and recommend solutions.
- Conducted routine risk assessment sessions for the two business cycles.
- Developed Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and policies for several processes inside the operations department such as fleet management, maintenance department, and inventory management.
- Conducted training for the operations team covering related policies, procedures and internal audit requirements.
- Managed parallel projects under Quality Control Function through applying the project management's tools and techniques in planning, executing, monitoring, controlling, and closing the projects.
- Some of the implemented projects are: Automatic CIP (Clean-in-Place) Sanitization Unit ($300, 000 budget over one year), Syrup Room’s capacity expansion ($450, 000 budget over one year), and Water Treatment Rooms' upgrading and relocation (Carbonated Water and Bottled Water).
- Supported the implementation of a geophysical study to evaluate the sustainability and reliability of the two underground water wells in the company.
Worked in ISG (Industrial Service group) to deliver the most competitive proposals and in compliance with clients' requirements and technical specifications to clients in Water Supply and Power Generation industries. Main responsibilities were:
- Studied the enquiries and understanding the clients’ requirements.
- Managed the required correspondences and vendors' communications in order to acquire the technical and commercial proposals.
- Prepared the details cost estimation and the final technical and commercial offers.
