Overseeing country-wide purchasing operations for Marriott’s seven properties - including hotels, restaurants, and golf courses - I was responsible for ensuring compliance to local and foreign purchasing contracts, forecasting future purchasing needs, and optimizing purchasing plans to ensure the smooth flow of all goods.
Key Accomplishments:
Reducing Buying Costs: Reduced buying costs approved by senior-level management by negotiating advantageous terms during the LCDs deal with LG to decrease purchasing cost by $1.8 Million EGP.
Optimizing System Processes: Expedited the coordination and management of goods procured and delivered by optimizing existing controls, processes, and policies to enhance operational efficiency.
Forecasting/Identifying Delays: Identified potential supplier and company delays by constantly tracking, analyzing, and reporting progress and then removing bottlenecks to meet all requirements.
Ensuring Contract Compliance: Ensured full compliance to contract requirements by evaluating information and inspecting goods before closing out purchase orders and updating tracking system.
