Project: Quality Control Services for Kuwait National Petroleum Com. (KNPC) Mina Al Ahmadi Refinery, Kuwait.
Job Responsibilities:
- Installation, up-gradation, monitoring & Maintenance of the refinery Cathodic protection systems
including plant piping, tank bottoms and internals, offshore structures, vessel and heat exchanger internals etc..
- Preparing technical specification, tender documents, material evaluation and procurement for upcoming Cathodic protection requirements related to Cathodic protection of refinery facilities.
- Reviewing technical qualifications, contractor proposals, quotation evaluations, maintaining
correspondence to suppliers and cathodic protection contractors.
- Maintaining Corrosion workshop activities and resource optimum utilization for Cathodic Protection jobs.
- Reviewing and finalizing contractor and consultant proposals for upcoming new facilities’ CP systems.
- Generating Inspection Advice Tickets (IATs) using MAXIMO related to Painting & Coating for new and existing refinery assets.
- Preparing Service Requisitions, New Catalogue requests, Desktop requisitions, Maintenance Work Orders related to Cathodic Protection Installation / Upgradation and material procurement.
- Inviting bidders and specialized contractors for upcoming CP related jobs in the refinery.
Special Assignments:
1) Assessment of existing deep anode groundbeds at KNPC - MAA refinery.
2) Electronic conversation of the Cathodic Protection Monitoring records and developing tracking system for KNPC - MAA refinery.
3) Preparation of technical specification for deep anode ground beds for replacement project at KNPC -
MAA refinery.
4) Developing recommended guidelines for cathodic protection system for above ground tank bottom external & plant pipings.
Project: Specialized Cathodic Protection Services for Kuwait Oil Company (KSC), Kuwait.
Job Responsibilities: For various facilities like plants (Gathering centers GCs & Booster stations BSs), pipeline networks, tank farms, off shore structures, etc. of Kuwait Oil Company (KSC), Kuwait under East & North Kuwait Zone:
- Evaluating the existing CP systems by routine monitoring and specialized tests.
- Upgrading the existing CP systems having malfunction, poor efficiency, inadequacy or improper utilization.
- Developing formats and reports based on survey findings and suggesting upgradation strategies.
- Adding new CP systems wherever required by design, material selection, procurement, installation, testing & commissioning of impressed current or sacrificial anode cathodic protection system.
- Trouble shooting for malfunctioning, poorly working, inadequate, inefficiently performing CP
systems.
- Monitoring & Maintenance for Solar power systems for CP systems.
- Specialized surveys like CIPS/DCVG, Current drain test, etc.
- Handling material and manpower to carry out routine and unscheduled site activities.
- Regular monitoring & maintenance for Impressed current CP system for all facilities.
- Attending quarterly client review meetings over existing CP systems deficiency, malfunctions, improvements required and justifications.
Major Executed Jobs:
1) Ghazlan Power Plant (Unit # 1 to 8) & Qurayyah Power Plant (Phase I & II), Saudi Arabia: Plan, Coordinate & execution for quarterly Monitoring & Maintenance of CP systems, Trouble shooting, Upgrading by adding of new CP systems for the Impressed current and sacrificial cathodic protection systems for in-plant facilities including Heat Exchangers, Condenser water boxes, Storage tank bottoms, Submerged sea water structures like Stop logs, Bar screens, Drum screens, Circulating water pumps, Concrete piping, Turbine and Generator foundations.
Working with Ferroeye cathodic protection software (Make: Cyberdan) for remote monitoring and controlling of the cathodic protection parameters, etc. at.
2) Fuel Oil and Fuel Gas pipelines (42 KMs in length) from SCECO Qurayyah to Saudi Aramco Abqaiq, Saudi Arabia: Bi-annual Monitoring, Maintenance and trouble shooting for the CP system for cross country desert pipeline.
3) Pre-design cathodic protection survey & collecting the data required to design CP system, which includes shallow soil resistivity (by 4-pin wenner method), deep resistivity (by Geonics EM31), listing of all underground & above ground utilities affecting the performance of CP system, locating the points for CP transformer rectifier unit / solar systems, etc. & Design the Permanent CP system for 70 kms long Saudi Aramco cross country natural gas pipeline from Juaymah to Jubail - Dar Al Riyadh Consultants & Persons E&C JV, Saudi Arabia.
4) Planning, Execution, Logistics arrangement, Pre-design Survey, comprehensive design data collection & reporting of the Temporary & Permanent cathodic protection system for 966 Kms long Saudi Aramco cross country sales gas pipeline corridor from Riyadh to Yanbu - Consultant: Bechtel, Saudi Arabia.
5) Pre-design Survey, design, installation, testing & commissioning of the Permanent grid anode CP system for spheroid tank bottom (30 m dia.) at Saudi Aramco Rastanura Refinery Saudi Arabia (Al Suwaidi Industrial Services, Jubail).
6) Studying the existing CP systems and preparing report for recommendations and upgradation of the sacrificial and impressed current CP systems for tank bottoms, tank internals & plant pipelines for Ibn Al Baytar fertilizer plant, SABIC, Jubail, Saudi Arabia.
7) Close Interval Potential Logical (CIPL) & Direct Current Voltage Gradient (DCVG) Survey of A, B
& C water pipelines of 60” (D) X 444 KMs (L) each - Jubail to Riyadh for SWCC, Jubail, Saudi Arabia.

1) Pre-design Surveys, (Topographical, Soil Resistivity and Current Drainage), Installation, Testing, Commissioning and Interference Mitigation of Permanent Impressed Current & Temporary Sacrificial CP System for underground City Gas Distribution Pipeline Network of 84 Kms for Mahanagar Gas Limited (MGL), Mumbai, INDIA - A joint venture of British Gas - UK, Gas Authority of India Ltd (GAIL) & Government of Maharashtra State, India.
2) Installation, Pre-commissioning and Commissioning of Permanent Impressed Current CP System for 05 nos. of Mounded LPG Storage Bullets each of 85 meters length and 1.5 meter dia. for Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL), Dumad, Baroda, India
3) Testing and Commissioning of Impressed Current CP System for Underground Plant Pipeline Network of Nirma Chemicals Limited, Savli, Baroda, India
