Responsible for strategic sourcing of all commodities like Steel, Copper etc for complete Tecumseh India Operation
Responsible for complete procurement activity
Annual buying of 50 Million USD of material
Strategic sourcing by getting into long term partnership for commodity purchase like Steel and copper by having tie-up with primary manufacturers to get price/quality/volume advantage
Copper Hedging
Global sourcing taking advantage of the cost due to FTAs and other competitive advantages
Procurement activities such as Supplier Identification, Selective / evaluation of suppliers, Fair price costing, Techno-Commercial discussions, Price and Process finalisation, Supplier performance rating, Materials planning and ordering, Scheduling and Inventory Control.
Co-ordination with other department likes Quality Control, Excise, and Finance Dept.
Develop System for Supplier self-certification.
Development of MIS related to Materials management.
Supplier development including identification of prospective suppliers, assessment, Estimation and Costing of components.
Cost reduction through value engineering and logistics.
