Response Officer;

• Responding to incidents (Grade 1-3)
• Taking reports from victims and witnesses
• Using police software and systems to create the logs and add logs.
• Referring victims and witnesses to the aftercare of incidents/ partnership agencies i.e DASH reports for domestic abuse victim and Care Plan for vulnerable children and adults. Safeguarding them in the best possible way.
• Preserving crime scenes and managing the scene.
• Lesioning with other departments and agencies within GMP or partnership agency. i.e detectives, CID, CSI, Multi agency Partnership etc.
• Accurately logging information and keeping it up to date
• Communicating via radio to Coms Operator and reporting back to supervision.
• Using appropriate PPE and able to use Tact communication in conflict situations.
• Supporting and allocating high risk missing individuals, bringing them to safety.
• Sectioning individuals under s.136 mental health act and supporting them taking them to hospital.

District Investigation Team;

• Conducting interview with suspects
• Interviewing victim and witnesses
• Preparing for interview by using police systems and case files.
• Preparing case files for CPS
• Consulting with the legal team, appropriate adults and interpreters
• Updating custody sergeants post interview.
• Making decision on suspect outcome.
• Being allocated crimes, progressing crime, and updating the crime logs.
• Speaking to victims to update them on outcome.
• Progressing crimes in a timely manner and establishing further lines of enquiry
• Conducting house search s.18 and s.32
• Adhering to victims code of practice of arrest attempts on offenders.
