Managing the Warehouse Operations in a highly challenging environment, within a conflict zone to ensure timely handling of WFP cargoes related to WFP’s programmes to support over 2 million needy people across the province of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, FATA & Azad Jammu & Kashmir.
•Managing WFP warehouse operations at Peshawar, DI Khan and Muzaffarabad.
•Ensure effective handling and storage management of commodities and NFs at warehouses.
•Closely monitoring the quality and quantity of food commodities and NFIs.
•Ensure all internal control processes are effectively implemented in all aspect of warehouse operation
•Managing physical checks & inventory management of commodities and NFIs at the warehouses.
•Coordination with internal & external stakeholders for the movement of Commodities / NFIs.
•Releasing / authorization of Work Orders and data management of inventories in the system (LESS).
•Develop contingency planning and logistics preparedness with regards to warehousing operations.
•Develop plan to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of WFP cargoes.
•Ensure control mechanisms are in place and implemented in order to have optimum utilization of resources and safe guard of assets.
•Managing more than 100 numbers of WFP & outsourced staff related to warehousing operations.
•Ensure effective pest management and loss prevention systems are in-place at warehouses.
•Ensure effective management of supplies and commodities of other UN sister agencies (UNICEF, FAO and other INGOs).
•Effective project management including closure of old warehouse and establishing the new Warehouse.
•Managed & supervised salvage operation of 66, 000MT of food and recovered 21, 000MT of food in sound condition during Flood EMOP of 2010.
•Identification of new land for establishing warehouses in response to the WFP emergency operations.
•Provide briefings and presentations to WFP and Donors’ missions during their visit to the warehouse.
•Developing and Supervision of teams and impart training to Warehouse staff.
•Review procurement cases as a member of the Local Procurement & Contracts Committee.
•Create Purchase Requests & post Goods Receipt Notes in the system for requested goods & services.
•Supervision of outsourced functions and staff such as cleaning services, stevedoring /porters etc.
•Providing training to WFP Counterparts, external stakeholders including the Government officials in Supply-Chain / Warehouse Management
Managing Logistics Operations of a high value hybrid seeds (with an average annual sales of US$ 10M) including imports, clearances, warehousing, procurement, quality controls and administration of the Company at its Lahore office.
•Develop and update Import Plan on a monthly basis in coordination with Sales and Research functions for both commercial and trialing hybrids.
•Coordinate with supplying country for market responsiveness in terms of timing, quality/packaging and cost
•Efficiently managing availability of products through all the stages including imports, custom clearance, logistics, warehousing and supplies to the customer
•Ensure smooth and efficient warehouse operations through coordination with the Country Product team and ongoing improvements efforts.
•Ensure all internal control processes are effectively implemented in all aspect of warehouse operation
•Ensure inventory management and control systems are in place for the optimum utilization and safe guard of assets.
•Act as coordinator for all HSE related matters and provide monthly reporting to the sub regional coordinator for South Asia.
•Act as interim Quality Coordinator for implementation of quality programmes/ systems in the Seed Sector.
•Efficiently supervising administrative and procurement matters at Seeds Lahore Office.
•Ensure smooth running of SAP system for Order to Cash (OTC) and Inventory management modules.
•Coordinate local production process of Seeds for proper management and control.
•Delivering special lectures on Environmental Management to the students of MBA (Institute of Business and Management Sciences), Agricultural University, Peshawar.
•Dealing with customers and ensuring on time delivery as per request and handling of complaints.
•Market analysis for the evaluation of potential customers to facilitate cash flow projections.
•Organizing the open workshops to obtain the feed back from the customers to improve the quality of services offered and consideration of requirements of the customers, which can be catered within the available resources.
