- Check and verify shipping records, handle questions or concerns of shipping shortages or overages and address problems with inventory control.
- Ensure proper compliance and adherence to all appropriate health and safety regulations and cleanliness requirements are followed both with regards for personal and inventory safety.
- Participate on divisional management teams and provides direct support to the divisions.
- Oversee day-to-day operations of finished goods and raw material warehouse and direct the operations of the warehouse team to achieve objectives.
- Promote continuous improvement including strategic reviews for the warehouse related functions utilizing quality process and participation in high performance and self-directed work teams.
- Act as logistics facilitator to ensure that all elements of the domestic and international distribution process are coordinated to meet customer requirements in a timely and high quality.
- Develop and ensure that established policies, rules and regulations and procedures are followed.
- Develop visible procedure and key performance indicators to monitor quality and regular measurements to determine effectiveness of procedures implemented
- Meet or exceed established goals relative to on-time delivery and shipping accuracy performance for customer shipments.
- Provide warehouse safety leadership and is responsible for improved safety performance in the facility.
- Oversee warehousing activities to ensure processes and procedures are understood and followed; oversee warehouse compliance for inventory management, cycle counting, product handling, and other services as required.
- Develop leadership team and provides daily oversight for all operational requirements for warehouse operational staff; leads and develops hourly workforce teams in a union environment.
- Help to manage clearance operation in (Airport cargo, DHL Hub, Express Transportation Port & Queen Alia International Airport Free Zone).
- Implement work objectives and schedules for specific Logistics operations and process in order to ensure that an effective service is provided to the clients.
- Effectively follow up internally with various local logistics teams including commercial department, and externally with forwarders, clearing agents and insurance brokers on all issues related to shipment delays and insurance claims, in order to ensure smooth provision of services.
- Identify and propose improvements of procedures and reports in own area to support the on-going development of Logistics standards.
- Collect, process and maintain accurate data related to Logistics activities in order to ensure that statistics are established.
- Coordinate with the Logistics Manager to provide to internal customers professional advice and guidance on Logistics issues in own area, in order to ensure that high standards in Logistics practices are achieved and maintained.
- Report major problems and areas of non-compliance to management in order to ensure that a high level of logistics service is maintained and issues are resolved in a timely manner.
- Identify relevant legal requirements and government regulations and ensures current Logistics policies and procedures are in compliance.
- Develops and maintains good working relationships with suppliers and other external agencies in order to ensure prompt resolution of issues and provision of high Logistics service levels.
- Analyse and solve logistics and warehouse problems in accordance with company policies and procedures.
- Supervise the handling, storage and pick-up of goods in a safe, efficient and effective manner.
- Instruct warehouse staff in procedures relating in receipt, handling, storage, and shipping of goods.
- Supervise and ensure the defined operation and system processes are executed, including quality check procedure, logistics handling and quality standards is achieved.
- Supervise and maintains the accuracy of inventory record.
- Assure that all other daily warehouse functions (receipts, putaways, shipping coordination) are completed.
- Report any breakage or shortages, packing omissions, warehouse breakage, and other forms of defective goods or warehouse facilities.
- Comply with all statutory requirements for customs clearance in accordance with the government laws and regulations.
- Track consistently all inbound and outbound shipments in close coordination with the operating companies and functional departments concerned.
- Prepare and submit necessary documents required for clearance of inbound and outbound shipments.
- Ensure most timely, accurate and cost efficient customs clearance of all inbound and outbound shipments.
- Generate commercial invoices with supporting documents for customs clearance for custom duty assessment.
- Update companies and departments concerned on status of clearance of shipments, as required.
- Plan, organize and follow through to accomplish tasks.
- Work closely with the clients and departments concerned to facilitate timely clearance of shipments
