Performing a number of duties within a dental office and responsible for cleaning teeth, looking for signs of oral disease in patients and providing education and preventative care. Special task performed include cleaning stains and plaque buildup on teeth, cleaning under and around the gums, searching for indicators of oral disease such as swelling, and applying dental prophylaxis, sealants, and topical fluoride as required and also educate patients on oral care and hygiene such as on flossing, brushing and diet. Help dentists and other professionals in their office in task such as taking radiographs, assisting during dental procedures and making impressions of teeth and sometimes work for orthodontist and provide care specific to orthodontic patient and procedures.
I am fully trained to handle and work for special patients such as handicapped, mentally retired, hypertensive, hyperactive etc.

Daily duties including removing plaque from and polishing a patient's teeth during a routine checkup, screening patient's, reviewing a patient's oral health history and teaching appropriate brushing and flossing techniques and also use X-ray machines to take pictures of the teeth and develop the film for the dentist's analysis. The additional tasks named by the BLS include administering anesthesia, removing stitches, sculpting materials to fill cavities and working with metal tooth components and maintaining patient's file and record.
